EOS Telegram Summary 2/26/18 - "Stay Tuned" to Scatter and Block Producer Voting

in #eos7 years ago

EOS general chat is always a good place to start as a token holder. If you're looking for in-depth discussion about the different aspects of EOS (governance, opportunities, block production) make sure to join one of the alt channels, where any appetite for intellectual discourse can be whetted. More on that below.

First, in EOS general chat, Ian Grigg of block.one shared a picture and tweet from the Nairobi, Kenya meetup at which he spoke:

David P of EOS London shared a video:

Community developer nsjames, creator of Scatter, dropped a hint:

EOS general chat growth has been accelerating; it just hit 34k three days ago (partially due to the airdrop scams, new people coming in to ask whether there is one. There is no EOS airdrop):

TJ lamented a focus on airdrops over tech (Everipidia Telegram link):

Ian Grigg was back to explain why EOS doesn't show on certain lists:

Harrison is concerned about small token holders having to lock their tokens up to vote for block producers:

One user asked where they can learn more about token lockup for voting (link):

nsjames told everyone to go watch the premiere live stream of EOSRad.io, every Monday at 6pm EST / 2300 UTC (link to video):

Dan Calinescu of new EOS dapp Carmel came on to interview (Links: Carmel website and whitepaper:

Dan Schaeffer dropped by to share the second EOS New York meetup with a speaker from Everipedia:

It is possible, though not confirmed or counted, that the EOS.IO Governance channel may have had posted more words today than EOS general chat. Though the userbase is at 571 compared to general chat's nearly 35k, members in EOSIO Governance are a passionate bunch and often have some interesting conversations.

Discussion kicked off with with Harrison coming over from EOS general, with the same concerns he shared above:

He received many responses, including one from Thomas Cox of block.one:

Discussion and debate continued, mostly on this topic, for the next ten (10) hours. Andrew M summarized the Gov chat over in EOS Opportunities:

Over in EOS Developers, an appearance by Dan about the standard of C++ used in smart contract development and answering Sheldon's question:

Go EOS!
