Going to Consensus 2017 to check out EOS / STEEMIT 3.0, sort of!
I was very interested in going to check out Dan Larimer's presentation on EOS at Consensus 2017 in New York City:

However, I had not yet heard back as to whether I would be offered a ticket for the event. I had thought of emailing again sooner, but didn't want to come off as "pushy". I also checked for any new comments that might indicate that tickets were being issued, but lest I missed them, I didn't come across anything of note. Perhaps I simply hadn't been "selected". But, with just a few days left, I decided I'd better send a follow-up email just to be sure. This time around, Abby from block.one emailed me back within a few hours, and it turns out that a bulk email had been sent out a week ago, but because I hadn't responded they thought I wasn't interested!
DOH!
How disappointing! Turns out I was offered a ticket and didn't even know it, and now they're all out! It's no one's fault really, except for me not trying to email again sooner. At the same time, for anyone whose ever been to a Costco, I don't want to be "one of those guys" circling around the "free food samples" like a starving wolf that hasn't eaten for a week!
However, after an in-depth email folder search, I did indeed finally find the "coveted email" buried in a spam folder of nearly 10000 deleted emails. Something must have triggered my SpamAssassin to flag the bulk email for some reason, especially since I had no problem receiving any of her other direct emails. Gotta start using those whitelists more often! But alas, mystery solved... Sometimes, 💩 just happens.
Regardless, Abby was terrific about it, managed to secure a spot for me at the EOS VIP Party, and if something opens up, I may still have a chance to check out the main event. So, despite the bit of bumpiness, all's well that ends well, and perhaps I should be slightly less worried about coming off "pushy"! lol
Caveat: I'm not necessarily saying this applies to everyone! It simply depends where you find yourself on the "pushiness" scale. I've met people who've said, "but I waited a 15 minutes before trying again"! (10 emails later) 🙄
