Hangout Format:
This will go up at least 4 days before the BitShares Hangout. BitShares community members who post subjects to cover and bring topics of discussion are asked to do so in response to this post first. Worker Proposals are a Chief Focus in these hangouts, but other topics and projects are welcome to join. @officialfuzzy can finally pay people who have supported this powerful cryptocurrency for the past 4 years since its birth and evolution. So reply below with valuable topics, updates, info we should cover and earn upvotes from in this thread and earn a special bonus if yours are chosen!
How Much Time Per Topic?
Hangouts will be at least 45 minutes long, but depending on attendance and projects/topics to be covered may last up to 60 minutes. Given this, we will try to stay with 5-6 core topics and will fit in others where possible.
What do we Earn for Actively Participating?
Those who attend will each earn from a pool of bitshares based tokens. They will then be given directly to you via your Bitshares wallet.
Fuzzy will be giving Beyondbits to community founders who attend this weekly hangout to give their own unique perspectives and expert commentary. He will also be giving them to people who give topics and information we choose to use in our hangout!
So make sure you get a BitShares Wallet!

Yes. We reserve the right to learn from the newest trickster trolling steemit consistently searching for way to insert chaos into the equation and devise future strategies for negating these. Naturally if these efforts become ham-fisted attempts at shutting down free speech in honest conversations, the audience will hold us accountable.
But with that said....pretty much anything can be covered--even up to and including current events. However, I personally will only be voting up stories that touch the blockchain in some way shape or form and will be asking the community to downvote absolute Rubbish! ;)

Excerpt from this weeks Bitshares State of the Network
This week has seen a 26% increase in the smartcoin supply making a new All Time High in the circulating supply of smartcoins within the Bitshares platform. The largest increase in circulating supply came from BitUSD which has increased by 38% and the Ruble by 22%, followed by BitCNY and BitEUR which both seen 16% increases.
The exchange AEX.com has opened BitCNY trading pairs this week. This now means that both BitUSD and BitCNY (fully collateralized smart coins) are base pairs being offered against some of the major cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin and Ethereum; currently over 1.5 Million USD have been traded on the smartcoin markets.
@Billbutler has announced the latest release of the Bitshares reference wallet (v2.0171205). This release includes features such as a new header and navigation menu with prominent icons for each menu item, contact lists and the ability to make bulk payments. On the roadmap they have also included TradingView integration for the referance wallet. source
Bitspark has released a roadmap for the future of the Zephyr project and what it means for Bitshares. The extensive vision described in the roadmap covers liquidity, market making/trading bots as well as timelines and mission statements. source
@ravid has been working on a Wikipedia page for Bitshares and this week has announced that it is live and ready for viewing. source

Worker Proposal for Infrastructure Approved

The worker proposal for instructure has just been approved.
One of the things that the worker will do is provide 2 additional API nodes in Asia, at least one in the US, and a public faucet. It will also provide nodes for the TestNet.
This proposal is being handled by the team called Blockchain Projects BV. Payment of its invoices is being handled as an escrow service on behalf of BitShares stakeholders by the BitShares Blockchain Foundation.

BitShares Protocol Upgrade (Hardfork) Activated

On December 8, 2017 16:40 UTC, the BitShares protocol was upgraded.
Although there are various tweaks, one of the major changes was related to enabling the revival of "blackswanned" assets. This capability was developed under a worker proposal that was led by Peter Conrad and whose funds were escrowed through the BitShares Blockchain Foundation

Ethereum recently hit #1 in daily transactions out of all cryptocurrencies! Annnnnd...then it had a heart attack. It essentially happened when a popular DApp called "CryptoKitties" required ETH to actually handle a reasonable number of transactions.

As ridiculous as it sounds that kittens are destroying Ethereum, there is nothing quite like this situation to vividly exemplify the simple truth that we in Beyondbitcoin have stated from the very earliest days of BitShares--Ethereum cannot and will not ever scale to meet the demands of mainstream adoption.
