Perusing Old Comments and Conversations

I was freeing up some hard drive space and ended up perusing a bunch of old comments and conversations from last year.

A few of them reminded me of recommendations from friends that I wanted to read or view, but forgot and never followed up on.

For example, upon meeting and making friends with @vimukthi online, we quickly discovered that we are both Ayn Rand fans.

He recommended "The Fountainhead" and it wasn't until yesterday that I downloaded the 1949 movie and watched it.

In a word? AWESOME!

I immediately identified with the main character - Howard Roark.

The rich cast of characters run the whole gamut of life stations and ulterior motives, such as the rich girl lover, the spineless friend, the conniving columnist, and the cowardly benefactor.

And the plot had me riveted to my black and white screen!

Believing that school was too boring, he dropped out of High School early; only to earn an AA, BS and MBA in less than 4 years much later in life – while working full-time as a Navy/Marine Corps Medic.

In spite of a fear of heights and deep water, he performed high altitude, free-fall parachute jumps and hazardous diving ops in deep, open ocean water.
