Ok kids a As always I would like to thank everyone who entered as always the stories were great and it was hard to choose …

💜Also a huge thanks to @girlbeformirror 💜
💜 donated 10SBD to the rewards pool of this contest 💜

Third place

This time there is a shared third place as I could not chose between the two. The two to place third are A- The Other Side by @seesladen
and B-Feral Canine by @theironfelix
Seesladen is an Electric dreams veteran. The story was engaging and I enjoyed the read. However it felt a little short to me I would have liked to have had more. One question did strike me though, seesladen how are there German shepherds if humans dod not intervene with their evolution or genetic makeup ? Theironfelix is another newcomer to electric dreams. I was fascinated by the writing style, it is unique and unusual. I found it compelling, almost like a Dali painting 💜
You two will receive 0.275SBD = 1/4 of the authors rewards and 1 SBD congratulations and thank you 💜

Runner up

The runner up is by @calluna - The Other Side Of The Canine Divide it is no secret that @calluna is one of my favourite writers here on steemit. This week’s entry defenitly had a classic sci-fi feel to it sort of like the time machine with the morlocks or Logans run. Cal you will receive 0.275SBD = 1/4 of the authors rewards and 2 SBD congratulations and thank you 💜

Winner

The winning story is is by @gaby-crb Dog Fights
gaby-crb is new to Electric Dreams. While she botched the first prompt, as dogs were not the dominant species in her story, it was the ending that made me chose it as the winning piece because it portrays the one thing all beings have in common the longing of a peaceful and happy existence, even in the face of a harsh world. @gaby-crb You will receive 0.275SBD = 1/4 of the authors rewards and 3SBD congratulations and thank you 💜

💜 💜💜Thank you again all participants hope to see you at round #10 ! 💜💜💜

Wooo thank you so much, I wasn't sure how much you liked that one.

Now just to check, when you say the protagonist wakes up, are you also specifying he/she is from our version of reality? Tricky one so appreciate the extra time <3

yes our version waking up in that one ... <3 check your discord

i clarified it a bit better ...basically from ours wakes up in place where neither the russian revolution happened, which pretty much means neither did the one in china , cuba ect and least not under the communist banner. or the WW2 which means a ton of thing too , as a lot of scientists fled germany in the third reich to places like the u.S a making it a science powerhouse for a while ... think of al the implications for science and culture . it can turn your head to spaghetti ;)

Ok, have you got a year in mind? Just trying to find a point of divergence to go from. Just thinking cos the russian revolution started before ww1 ended, and was kinda related to getting involved in that, so did ww1 happen, and just not trigger that, or did ww1 not happen either? Or are you more just thinking about things that led to the removal of monarchies? Research is just leading to more research lol I have an idea

I do not have a year of divergence that you will have to come up with ..the story plays in 2189 which is far enough way to be scifi but also close enough to have a feel of how history made everything different . ww1 was more triggered by the assassination of the Austrian crown prince. so it is really up to you :)

Oh yeah, but being involved in WW1 was a factor that led to the success of the Russian revolution. It's ok, I think I have an idea of how I am going to approach it now :)

KK keep in mind WW1 happened but it might not have had the same outcome :)

Wow thank you so much for the win, it's very unexpected. I am sorry for misunderstanding the first prompt but I have learnt my lesson and will try to reread them more often when I am writing to get a better understanding.
The prompts for #10 seem really interesting. I'm not really a history person (my idea of history is yesterday), so I don't think I will attempt this one but I can't wait to see what people come up with.

Yay! I gave a good batting and I won bronze - time to hit harder now!

Here be my submission: RN Dash for this contest.

thank you :)

Very welcome.

I couldn't count the words, uncertain if I met the thousand. And I did lazily ignore the research part....

Still, half apples are better than...

One entry, not my usual, but I couldn't resist going this way with the prompt, maybe I should have worked on it more and only just pipped the deadline, but off on adventures tomorrow, so here it is:
