Mid-term Elections. To vote or not to vote?

in #elections6 years ago

Vote if you want to. Don't vote if you don't want to. Most of all, don't let creeps shame you for your decision to vote or not to vote.

If you think voting is a civic duty then go for it. If you think it's the politicians' job to earn your vote and not your job to give it to them for free, then go for that.

If a politician loses it's because they failed, not because you did. They're demanding power over you, over everyone. They aren't entitled to that, it's something they're bargaining with you for.

You're the only person who decides what your vote means to you and you're the only person who has to answer for how cheaply or expensively you sell it.

I hope the Democrats do well. I also hope they get the message that they have to change, and that they can't just be the same "hey we suck and we'll happily sell various communities down the river, but Republicans are worse!" party they've been my entire life.

Until we get the option to vote for "None of the above" it's not a free choice.

At the end of the day most Americans do not vote. It's ironic since the ones who usually don't vote are the ones who tend to scream the loudest when new legislation gets passed to their detriment. It almost makes me wish we'd go the way of Australia where you get fined if you do not vote.
