Dear Supporters of School For SDG4,

Many children we have seen who left school. We don't know how to keep them long-term when the problem is not small. Children love to come school but parents send them to work. Our children Junayed left school forever. His mother took him away from school area and he joined in a full-time job. So easy to write in word but difficult to accept this. I feel maybe I could do something but I did not take action in time. We now working will remaining children who are coming school regularly.

Children are studying at school. We have two rooms so far. They love to study in the big room so they can play too. But we have a narrow room and thinking to move in a new building.

We are following govt curriculum so they can compete with other formal schools. As we are a charity school, so we have lot of extra work. Like fundraising for the kids is one of the difficult and complicated tasks. We need to communicate with our supporters. Formal schools don't have any promotional campaigns and no one knows how they are teaching their children. We could follow the British curriculum but it would be harder for them to cope with it. They have lack of family support and parents are not able to help them when they study at night. Nevertheless, we can't give them full-day educational support instead 2-3 hours at school.

Al-Amin is a very attentive kids at our school. He has very big wishes and expectation from life. His father is a small tea stall owner. I @Azizbd frequently or almost every day go to his father's stall to take a cup of tea. His father makes nice tea for customers. Al-Amin also works in the tea stall after school.

Few days ago, @mother2chicks was asking me about girls at school. The number of female kids are more than half at @SchoolForSDG4 . But when they are at age 10-12, they stop school and give time more at housework.

In the picture, Juhora received a doll sent by @girlbeforemirror . Other kids behind Juhora was waiting for gift if we had any :).

Do you still have children working in the textile and garment industry? A lot of the clothes from the big chains (H&M, Zara, Pull & Bear) are made in Bangladesh.

Thank you for the comment. We have many women(mother of the children, sister ) who are not employed and I am trying to give them training of garments and textile. They are learning. But the children who are the worker as child labourer are doing other jobs. In Sylhet, Garments are not much but in Dhaka, it is very popular job sector because of demand, central city and easy transportation for foreign export. But it is same wages and availability of the human resource in Sylhet too. I am sure, @womenempowerment will continue to support them.

this is obviously a noble job

Is it possible for those who leave the school to work to still have a chance to have a bit of education occasionally when they have time?

We were ready to provide education at night. but the children become so tired after 10 hours work. Junayed participated annual exam last year coming to school at night. But his mother later took him away from school area. Now his only job is working as a day labourer whole life if any miracle doesn't happen. We are already implementing your suggestion and will care about it in future too. Thanks for your comment.

This is very heart warming. The kids smiles are too. Great job.
