University Of Basel, Switzerland Now Issues Blockchain-Based Diplomas

University of Basel now adds to the list of universities that will issue blockchain-based diplomas after MIT that started this innovation last year.

Last year, MIT issued 111 blockchain-based diplomas with the help of an application called BlockCerts and now, a blockchain innovator called Proxeus has patnered with the University of Basel, Switzerland to create prototypes that will the institution to issue blockchain-based certificates. The means that the University will issue certificates and register them on a blockchain.

Sources say this might be a perfect solution to solve the problem of academic fraud and it will be also very easy for employers to check the credentials of graduates.

Proxeus is a reputable well-known company that in also in partnership with IBM and a few other companies. It has been working on similar projects with different organizations.
