Shower thoughts

I am constantly reminded of the similarities between comedy and tragedy; Both a subversion of expectations. You can read a comedy and without sufficient context it can read as a tragedy and vice versa. When I first read Romeo and Juliet I laughed, granted it was a shortened children’s version, but it is undoubtable to me that at the point of their successive suicides it is quite subjective what emotion it evokes. You remove the laughter track off of any sitcom and each absence feels more and more tragic.
