oooh Thats an interesting question!!
I like it! It's also been one of the most enjoyable aspects of Steemit for me. Meeting people I otherwise wouldn't encounter. Having lively debates or explanations. I know a guy who studies the Sun, a Permaculturist in Mexico, You dear gideon and dozens of others I find myself entwined with. I can see them as potential upvoters or real people exploring this new land in the dark, just like the rest of us. Finding a hand to lead you, well, frankly anywhere on here... makes it an adventure and not a battle or a toil. Focus on your vibe, attract your tribe. Connection is the path and the goal.

Good idea . I enjoyed thinking about this question, although it did cause me something of an existential crisis. Let's have an easier one next time..?
Something real simple, like 'what would you do if money was no object?' , or 'what would peace on earth look like?', or 'how can you tell if this reality is really a dream .. and maybe not even your own .?' ..you know.. basic stuff . I don’t want to have to think too hard.

I think as long as we rely on anyone else for ANYTHING we are not completely free. We can strive to take as much responsibility for our daily needs as possible. With each step towards personal responsibility we move toward freedom.
yes, this is true! being reliant is being vulnerable.. especially if you rely on the state to look after you!
Rely on someone else to make our smartphones, provide our internet connection to each other, grow our food, make our cloths, provide us with building materials and build our shelter. Being dependent on others for these things makes us not free. Some people around the world do some of these basic things for themselves but when it comes to the more technical aspects of our life almost everyone is beholden to entities they do not know and can not trust.
I know what you mean....
although i believe in the power of motivated people.. and also HUGE companies like Google who i feel have our back!! if everything fell apart i am SURE that google would put free internet out via satellite in a heart beat! ;-)
