K.I.S.S. in Regarding Choices – A Response to Ecotrain’s QOTW...
When I first read the @Ecotrain question (find out details here)
More Choice Or Less Choice?
I started recalling when my husband first announced he was going on a Keto diet and he wanted me to check it out. He had done all the research for what were the best foods for a ketogenic diet, etc. so we knew what foods our diet would consist of. That became one of the reasons I was happy to adopt the diet for it simplified things – we knew what kind of meals we would be having, what we would be stocking up on, less trips to the grocery store and also what we would be planting in the garden. This would make for less decisions of what to eat, what to buy and what to put in the garden – sounded good to me! Also he declared he wanted to get into making some of the meals, cooking like the gourmet chefs - that was another big draw to me to have to do less cooking!
At this point in my life I am really working on staying more focused. I have direction and my time is precious. It seems as you age time flies by quicker. I don’t want a bunch of distractions or time wasters being consumed in making choices.
My needs are simple and I most assuredly don’t want to get pulled into consumerism and the many choices of things we are lead to believe we need.
With my needs met and living a simple, comfortable life back in the forest, I am happy!
I was happy we had options for where we could build our homestead and had choices for occupations, also choices for when we wanted to leave the work force. I wouldn’t want to be denied these choices for they really affect my life. It’s those other superficial choices that I think we have way too many of and I would be happy to see some eliminated.

I've done this diet on and off for the past twenty plus years. When I started, I did it constantly for about 2 years. I do it now if I gain a little more weight than is acceptable to me. I've always thought it's a good, healthy diet.
I still do things associated with the diet all the time, like if I want a snack in the evening close to bedtime, I eat a protein snack like a hunk of cheese or a piece of leftover meat in the fridge, rather than chips or ice cream. But I normally don't eat at all for about 4-6 hours before bed.
That's a good attitude to have! I see it making changes for my lifetime although it may not stay strict Keto!
@porters,
Being aware of what we are putting into our bodies, certainly falls into the mindset of my #thoughtfuldailypost... Being thoughtful about "not" having to cook as much :) (Teasing your other half)... Honestly though... I have tried telling my son stories about growing up... going, "out to the garden, and pulling up some vegetables" for dinner... It really seems such a strange concept to "buy" things from the store, when growing up, they were right in the back yard. Anyway... just wanted to drop by, and thank you once again for your support of my #tdp tag !tip
Love and light...

Oh I so much prefer fresh garden food as to the store bought and would love to see more of a revivale of the backyard gardens and people growing their own food!
Thanks so much for the tip!

That is a really great chart.
I definitely need to try this, I've tried all kinds of weight loss diets, even combined with exercise and nothing has worked for me!
I, too, am enjoying the journey to better focus and spending less time being distracted. I prefer to go to the same shop or vendor, and buy the same quality and brand, knowing it meets my needs. I am never so ratty or out of sorts as when I go to buy my regular "whatever" and they don't have it. LOL.
