Product Spotlight Series #23 - DIY Citrus Perfume

in #ecotrain6 years ago

I think this is the first product in my series that I made instead of purchased! I’m pretty cheap and get tired of the same ole scents day after day, so I hate to spend money on big bottles of perfume. It seems a waste!

That’s why I decided to experiment a little with essential oils instead!

I took an old bottle and washed it out thoroughly, pumping plenty of water through the spray cap to clear out the tubes. When it was all clean and I could stick my nose in it without smelling the previous perfume, I started filling it up:

I diluted the oils with some water and gave it a good shake! Not the fanciest DIY but it’s super quick, simple, and inexpensive! I spray it on and relish the invigorating citrus scent! It doesn’t last as long as store bought (and chemical filled) perfume, but I don’t mind at all because too much/too powerful of a scent will give me a headache. I bring along the bottle and spritz a little on throughout the day.

Of course, you can make whatever scent you desire with the extraordinary variety of essential oils available. I prefer crisp scents like citrus or peppermint, but I also enjoy warm alternatives like vanilla!

Give it a try and tell me what concoction you mixed together!
