[Recipe] Making Morning Toner Drink...

in #dtubesnapx6 years ago

Upon rising after the night time, intermittent fasting, before I "break-fast" I like to have a drink that will tone up my digestive system.

Toner Tea

INGREDIENTS
Pre-made tea from fresh ginger & turmeric root slices, crushed.
Juice of half a fresh lemon
Honey or stevia to sweeten to taste.
1 Tbsp. Apple Cider Vinegar
1 Tsp Saturated salt water (optional - used if you find yourself a bit constipated)

DIRECTIONS:
Make a big jug of tea with the ginger and turmeric, be generous with it! Once tea has steeped pour yourself an 8 ounce cup of it just 3/4 full.
To that cup add the lemon juice, ACV, plus your sweetener (honey or stevia)
Add the saturated salt water (often called SOLE) if you are using it.
Stir well and it's ready to drink. It is best on an empty stomach.

To make the saturated salt water (SOLE) fill a glass quart jar 1/4 full with Himalayan Salt or Celtic Salt (make sure it's all natural), fill the jar to within 1 inch from the top with filtered water.
Put on a plastic lid and shake it well. Leave it for a while (overnight is good) to see if all the salt dissolves, saturating the water.
If you have some salt crystals remaining on the bottom this means the water is saturated. If there is no salt at the bottom then add some more, mixing it in and letting it sit to dissolve. Repeat this until you see salt crystals remaining on the bottom.

The benefits you get from adding the saturated salt water is it can balance the alkaline/acidity of the body and normalize blood pressure. Plus it has been known to dissolve and eliminate sediments which leads to kidney and gall bladder stones and is effective against various forms of rheumatism.

The medicinal qualities and benefits of the ingredients in this toner tea are:

GINGER ROOT: a cleansing herb with a warming effect that supports digestion, reducing the total volume of acids in the stomach and has an anti-nausea action. Plus it will prevents the formation of ulcers.

TURMERIC: is an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anti-fungal, anticoagulant, analgesic plus more. It too has an anti-nausea action and is good for digestive disturbances, especially good in aiding fat and protein digestion.

LEMON JUICE: helps stimulate the gastrointestinal tract, improving digestion and reducing heartburn and it helps in the process of elimination and detoxification. It will stimulates the liver and helps the enzymes to function with the citric acid. Plus the vitamin C in it supports the immune system. The nutrients and minerals in it are alkaline in nature which helps balance the PH of your body and the potassium in lemon stimulates brain and nerve function and controls blood pressure.

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR: Just like the lemon juice, helps balance the PH of your body, allowing more efficient food digestion, minimizing bloating and acid reflux. It vinegar has anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant and anti-bacterial properties, that boosts your immune system. It also has malic acid, B vitamins, calcium and potassium which has been shown to help your gut. It is another one that helps with detoxification and cleanses your liver plus it is effective at lowering blood sugar levels, too.

Tip up your drink and hears to your health!

You're Welcome! It tastes good if you sweeten it to your taste.

I keep a 1/2 gallon jar of ginger water in the fridge and that's what I drink first thing. I have the other things, except turmeric, so I could do this....Hmmmmmm......

Those extra ingredients add a lot of benefits to it, although they definitely need some sweetener to go with them.
Go for it!
Here's to your health!

That certainly looks like a good and healthy drink. Loving these videos. I usually have a dash of Kombucha vinegar or apple cider vinegar or lemon. Something quick. I usually drink it in the shower lol. It's my habit now wake up grab the water jump in the shower and have a big drink. Sets me up for the rest of the day xx

I've never heard of someone having there morning drink in the shower but I guess you have to make the most of each minute! This must be when you are getting ready to go to work, when you are on a schedule. All good healthy stuff but do you just take it as a shot or do you add some sweetener to your drink?

Just water and vinegar/lemon!!! It's just a habit so I don't pour a drink and get distracted and not drink it.

I usually have my hot water and lemon juice every morning, but I have meaning to do this... I have made ginger and lemon with sweetener, however, I am not a big fan of ginger at all and am still trying to acquire the taste. I do know, however, I should just "get it down" because this is so good for you.

Your post provides excellent information, thanks for sharing.

H-m-m that makes it not so enjoyable if you don't like the ginger. That is the part I like the best!
I don't know about just getting it in you, you could get most of those ingredients in other ways. For example I make a dressing that has the lemon juice and apple cider vinegar in it and turmeric I use in a lot of my dishes when I'm cooking (not quite as good as the fresh root though). Often I will add ginger to my stir fries or in stews etc. that just adds a little tang.

I continue to try, but yeah, ginger for me is an acquired taste. Funny though, my Mother used to enjoy ginger very much... I will have to ask her if she still does... too bad it didn’t rub off on me!

I too make a recipe with lemon and apple cider vinegar and I enjoy it immensely.

Thank you for the reminder. I have been drinking ginger tea a lot and think this makes a great addition to my morning routine.

I used to have ACV and Honey with warm water everyday 1st thing in morning, but lately in the last few months I have stopped, I wonder why. It's a very good therapy and your recipe has an additional punch @porters

What an interesting combination for a morning drink @porters. Do you include the saturated salt every day? I'm intrigued. I only do it when I'm doing a flush. Apple cider vinegar to kick start the day is excellent. And I love the ginger tumeric for a drink during the course of the morning, but now I want to try the combination. Do you notice quite a marked improvement in your wellbeing by starting every day with this tonic?

I only include the saturated salt water if I'm feeling a bit constipated.
I do feel a difference with taking this as a toner, especially in my digestive system.
I don't take this drink when I'm off to work on Tues. and Thurs days for I'm a bit more rushed and need to get more nutrients in me getting ready to greet the kids.
It is my preferred way to start the day when I'm not on a strict schedule.
