Eloui is a Swiss singer, bass and ukulele player living in Vienna, Austria. After studying at Vienna’s academy of fine arts and spending too many lonely hours at her studio, she decided to switch from brushes to bass and make music instead of paintings.

She plays with Ernesty International, Thalija and The Brainmanagerz and works together with Gudrun von Laxenburg, M185 and am a member of Michaela Obertscheider’s theater group.

Her first solo album ‚Chasing Atoms‘ was released in November 2011.

Eloui – von der FM4-Redaktion zur Soundpark-Band des Monats November gekürt – ist eine Sängerin, Bassistin und Ukulele-Spielerin mit Schweizer Wurzeln, die nach ihrer Ausbildung an der Kunstakademie Wien und zu vielen einsamen Stunden im Atelier ihre Pinsel gegen Instrumente eingetauscht hat und sich seither der Musik widmet. Eloui spielt mit bei Ernesty International, Thalija und den Brainmanagerz und veröffentlicht nun mit “Chasing Atoms” ihr Solo-Debütalbum.

Gerhard Stöger (Falter) schreibt darüber:

“Zu liebevoll arrangierter Plicker-Plucker-Elektronik, die um stimmungsvolle Samples und allerlei analoges Instrumentarium erweitert wird, singt Eloui sanft, zurückhaltend und doch prägnant melancholische Lieder voll Intimität und Wärme, wobei ihr das kleine Kunststück gelingt, die Schwermut ganz leichtfüßig klingen zu lassen.”
