Dear @DTube #1 // day zero, borders and travel
i want to get back into daily vlogging.
getting the technology out of the way and talking about my life from the point of view of a 45 year old dad of one (11) and his partner who lives 3000+ miles away in new jersey! :)
day zero. dayle departed this morning.
i just got back from the travelling, see my other post about that as i wrote that in the airport this morning while waiting for her first flight to go out.
i'm glad everything went smoothly.
gonna hit the hay for six or so hours until she arrives. ..
i realise i should have optimised this video, i'll do that from tomorrow, promise.
i'm not sure vlog videos last that long on the @dtube network so watch it quickly! :)
anybody else out there that has to visit for a period of time to see a loved one, did you get a visa, do you have issues with it, what problems have you been through.
do you know anyone who handles visa support and you would recommend? i'd love to hear from you.
starting my new routine tomorrow, 7am starts, up and at the computer, course making and tutorial building with a side order of @dtube and @dlive -- it's just me here now and so i can run at my own tempo a little bit which means i need to do everything i can to get back to see @dayleeo stateside.
we don't earn a lot of money in our collective works what we do so making big trips and flights over is an expense, we have plans to make that a bit easier over time as want to get some additional transportation sorted so we will be on a mad saving mission in the next six months to make that happen! :)
i hope you will tune in daily for the vlogs and come and chat with me soon on my live streams with a bunch of topics! :)

If she applies for a long term visitors visa 2,5 or 10 years she can visit 6 months out of 12. You need to show a good reason for applying for this visa, in your case because you have a daughter, in my case cos my parets are elderly and Dad had cancer. We just got the wife a 2 year last year, next time we will go for the 10! Ours was even more difficult to get as my wife is Thai, but wed had 3 previous visitor visas and shed gone home as planned and had got a good record with immigration.
They care simply that the visitor has funds to cover their stay and that the visitor has reason to return home...thats all. The visa is a lot of paperwork but providing you honestly give them chapter and verse I cant see why they would give you a problem.
The partner visa if she decided to stay full time is a different beast, very expensive and time consuming and she'd need to be out of the UK when she applies and it can take months, its utter bollocks and requires strict financial and proven funds and earnings and accounts if youre self employed over a 6 month period from you. Its a permission to remain visa . Its horrendous. All the info is on uk gov website but working out whats what is mind blowing.

This was the first dlive video I've ever watched. Pretty impressed with the quality, for a live stream!
Also, t-shirt logos should be printed way further up! ;)
never told that story maybe i need to do that, yeah the borders situation kinda sucks, just means i'm gonna double down on projects now i have the alone time as such but i also know we will be more 'open' now because we will be using digital to talk to each other, got an emotional podcast to push from last night in the hotel too! -- she is landing in 36 minutes too! eeeek!
yeah it was actually on @dtube, i'm gonna put my blogs there, yeah i optimized the file before i uploaded it so it was better for streaming and yeah the tshirt was one i bought not one we designed, it certainly needs to go higher for video and stream recordings.
Oh, so you can upload videos on dlive, too? I thought it was only for live streaming!
So if you don't live stream - why do you prefer dlive over dsound? Are the uploads faster? That would help... I'm actually uploading one right now - will try dlive also and see what is faster...

yep you can upload video on dlive. i prefer the upload it works better for me than @dtube because that's IPFS instead of amazon cloud like on @dlive
i do live stream, just not often, i'll be live streaming a lot more now! :) -- dlive over dsound? - nah, i use dlive for live streaming and hosting videos (especially for their tutorials they need) and dsound for our podcast that me and dayle do together. i've found that the video uploads on dlive to be very fast and work most of the time where as i can have problems with dtube unless i log out, then in and use firefox! :)
i'd say @dtube for vlogs that you don't need to store for any length of time and @dlive for videos for permanency and because the live streaming is useful. i've got some real audience development plans lined up and i start experimenting on stream tomorrow as i build something out in the day so do drop in if you are around! :)
also the discord @dlive is probably one of the best discords out there.
