Womb Centered Healing Temple Podcast Interview with Raquel Lemus on Vaginal Steaming for Postpartum care
In this episode, Raquel and I discuss the research project sponsored by Steamy Chick founder Keli Garza and Kimberley Johnson, author of "The Fourth Trimester" in which Raquel, a midwife in Los Angeles, offers postpartum vaginal steaming services to new mothers free of charge and collects information about the health benefits of this treatment. Medical studies have not been conducted on the healing benefits of steaming for women, though midwives and indigenous healers around the world could give countless case studies documenting the benefits, because this is a treatment any woman can do for herself at home with herbs from the grocery store or growing in her yard. It is not a treatment that money can be made off of in large quantities so researchers have a hard time getting funding. So in this podcast we ask for donations towards growing this project as well as share the details.
