It's so hatd to get out and meet people. Its like if its not a bar, people dont go out. I get it. I had my times partying etc... it got old. I much prefer nature somewhere along the lines the human species was brainwashed.

Yeah right! All my friends are social drinkers.... which is fine but I'm kinda locked out at the moment.

I'm pretty much happier these days walking in the countryside, or in a forest than partying 24/7. Lol, in fact I couldn't party more than one day in a row without destroying myself now 🤣

I do like the occasional drink though... I'm talking once every 2 weeks but at the moment my body says no to even that. Just got to make the best of life 🙂

Yea I have a drink maybe 3 times a year. I'm happier without it but can still enjoy a drink every now and again

Man didn't even know you have SIBO...well, making ur own garden is actually a super nice task! Wish it'll make ur time easier....going out to pubs and bars and caffees which you've mentioned is actually waste of time really..Once you have ur supercool garden running, maybe those people will start coming to u to visit :) Cuz nice garden deffo feels better than some random pub :) wish u luck!

Man didn't even know you have SIBO

Yeah it's a bitch. Most foods make me sick. Coffee, which I love, started making me super hyper recently (not normal levels of coffee buzz, it felt like I was on drugs). Drinking gives me a 4 day hangover, if I drink 1 pint of beer or 7 pints of beer.... no difference... 4 days hangover! But this treatment I'm undertaking might sort it out, with a few months of after care once it's over at the beginning of May. Then I'll have 2-3 months more of eating very carefully and trying a specific regime of supplements. I'm hopeful and have a target to get it resolved before my birthday in July... so I can enjoy a few beers then with a full bill of health :)

Ha ha, well I love the pub if I'm honest but the garden would be a nice alternative to that pub culture. At the moment I don't have a choice. My best friend did come to visit me earlier but in the UK, and especially where I live, there is such a big social drinking culture.

But I'm going to focus on solving this condition as quickly as possible so that I can return to enjoying eating and drinking out. If I have to abstain from a l lot of things for 4-6 months, that's just the way it has to be. thanks for stopping by Mat, I appreciate your support :)

I love your little garden! Looking so cozy and like a green paradise within the city :) This mirror is really cool.

Happy to see that the gimbal arrived and that it is working good for you bro! And also I feel happy to see that you already accomplished the first half of your treatment. I send you much energy!
You could try to meditate against the boredom :)

Good luck with the little corner in your garden. I am excited for the video about the progress and I hope @diytube will be there and curate you :)

Keep your head up and happy creating!

Peace!

Hi Norman

Yeah the gimbal is working great and I hope to be stretching out of my comfort zone in a few weeks with some walking footage of famous spots in Liverpool. Gotta get oer that fear of filming PTC in crowded places ;-)

Thanks dude, I really appreciate the encouragement. I'm pretty sick right now so it is giving me a boost reading all the supportive comments I'm getting. It's a strange thing as I'm swinging one day from feeling vaguely normal to sick as a dog the next, it must be the bacteria dying in my system... I hope so anyway lol

P.s. I'll definetly use diytube as one of my tags when I clear the herb beds and condition the soil.

Thanks again bro

Love a herb garden.

You'll be ok with basil and parsley for sure from seed, and rocket yes!

Not so sure when you should sow Rosemary and Fennel?

Nice project. Nice garden too.

Yeah, I don't know about the timing for the woody herbs and the fennel off the top of my head. More research is needed. But I think it will be ok if I can split off done established plants.

My friend at the allotment will probably let me split done if his rosemary, thyme and chive plants 🙂

Oh yes defo get what you can for free, that's all part of the fun.

I used to love my allotment back in Surrey. Somehow even though now I've quit work I seem to be too busy to manage one!

Might get my act together for 2020, maybe 2021!?

You're right, it really takes a lot of time to manage an allotment.

I've got a greenhouse in my friends plot, and I used to have half the plot to play with, but I've had to give over even my greenhouse this year with moving, being ill and losing my car lol

A little herb garden in the back yard is just what the doctor's ordered 🙂

Easier to maintain and just down the stairs for watering.

great that you are doing something outside, while that helps you to get that fresh air in, helps that planet and you are enjoying it. Cheers. sometimes is truly hard to get outside and do what you want and just yeah... enjoy the nature. ;)

Hi @travellit

I'll definitely enjoy the garden as much as I can and you're right, it's important to get out and breath the fresh air :)

Sorry to hear about your health issues. I'm glad you're getting it sorted out. Full disclosure: I didn't watch the video, but I did click through to your other post about SIBO.

Why did your doctor fight you so hard on the breath test? I assume it doesn't cost HIM anything, so why was it such an issue to administer it?

Hi @mattifer

Yeah, it is shit show right now in the UK as far as the current government trying to run the NHS into the ground so that they can privatize it and make money for themselves and their cronies. The upshot of this is that most doctors are being pressurized to deny 'non essential treatment' to people by the NHS budgeting managers, basically because the budgets have been slashed to bare bones.

Thanks for the well-wishes :) I'm currently in the hardest phase of this treatment as swinging one day from feeling vaguely normal to sick as a dog the next, it must be the bacteria dying in my system... I hope so anyway lol

I really appreciate the encouragement, as it is giving me a boost reading all the supportive comments I'm getting.

Ah, I got it. NHS makes more sense now. In the US, many people are trying to push a switch to a system like yours, where health care is considered a basic right and is covered by the government for everyone. As it is now, many people have no insurance, myself included. Personally, I'm ok with having no insurance, but many people are not.

What do you think? Is NHS the way to go, or would it make more sense to privatize the industry?

The NHS used to be the envy of the world. I'm definitely against privitization of the health service.

What I'd like to see is a change in government with a less elitist agenda. This battle I'm still engaged in to get proper treatment is a direct result of the government policies that are strangling the NHS and stealing money from a great public service to line the pockets of already rich people. There is an already lucrative private health care set up in the UK, people with money can choose to go private. The people who run the private health care companies who are getting subsidised NHS contracts now are the ones benefiting from all this. The same people who have links to political figures in the current government, lol. Corruption at the cost of people's health is what is happening.

100% against privitization. Without the treatment I've had from the NHS for this and other issues I have with a disc bulge/spin problem, I'd be homeless right now. So despite being unhappy with the level of care I've received from my doctors, it would be considerably worse if we had an American model over here, for me at least.

Good to know. I love hearing perspective from people who have experienced it. In the US we often hear that a government run health care system would cause us to have to wait way to long to be seen by a doctor. I guess to those people they'd rather be able to get in quickly and die than have life-saving medicine that they need...

Best of luck with your journey back to health!

Ohhh it's crossed my mind to consider the Zhiyun smooth Q, how cool that you got it off @steembay, how much did you pay???

Also, I only just realized I wasn't following you this whole time, obviously I've rectified that now, but stilll! Oops :(

Hi @redrica

Sorry I didn't respond to this comment sooner!

Yeah, the smooth Q is a decent starter gimbal. About the only criticism I have is that it's a little difficult mounting the phone in the holder as the spring mechanism is quite strong... But I guess this keeps your phone safer 🙂

It cost me 95 steem including postage. This was when steem was around $0.50 so about $48 all in. Bargain! 🙂😎
