Have you ever seen or heard of a fruit that comes with a peanut? Do you know where Cashews come from?
Well....I didn't know until now. I don't know why I get so excited about this fruit, but I think this Maranon fruit, Cashew fruit is just amazing, because you get not just the fruit, or just the nut, but you get both of these as a package. What more can you ask for?
This is my entry for the awesome
#fruitandveggiesmonday created by the amazing

That means you get twice the amazing health benefits, plus it looks so unique and so beautiful.
I will need to get myself one of these trees, because of all the health benefits from the fruit and from the peanuts.

I should have planted one of these fruits so that I can get the tree growing in my backyard, but because it was in the evening when I got this fruit and I put it in the fridge, now I can't plant it anymore, but either way, I will have to get this tree.
I have mentioned in the video that you can eat the cashews raw, because I thought I heard that before, but that is not true with the cashews since when you crack the shell the inside of the shell is very toxic as it hac acid known as urushiol that is the same component as poison ivy.
So the cashew nut HAS TO BE ROASTED at a very hight temperature in order to get rid of the acid and to destroy both shells.
Love @joalvarez.

I read a long article about cashews and the way they process them to be safe for human consumption. It is very complex and lengthy procedure and I don't know if it is safe to do it at home. Nevertheless, it's amzing that you have cashews with the fruits still attached and you are sharing the photos with us 😊

Thank you @lenasveganliving for your lovely visit. I think that I would be a bit nervous to roast my own cashews, unless I was shown how to do it the proper way.
So strange how the inside shell of the peanut can be toxic since the fruit and the nut is eatable and great for your health.
I totally agree, nature can be very mysterious.
So neat to see! I love cashews. They are good for so many recipes, but it is crazy to think how much work goes into harvesting them and making them edible. Thanks for sharing!
❤️❤️❤️crazy I never saw those !! Great post and sharing!!

@joalvarez, this a a coincedence, I saw my first cashew plant on March 22, while on a tour in Costa Rica. I was amazed how the cashew nut grows with a fruit attached. I now see why cashews are so expenive, you only get 1 per plant. Thank you for your post.
Wow you definitely need to get one of these trees for your garden @joalvarez I had seen these before and remember thinking of all the work needed to get the cashews which are some of my favourites.
