DtubeDance // Improv Dance - West Coast Swing (One More Night - Cover by Alex G)

Hey guys!

I did a super fast and fun partner switching dance last week, and so I decided to slow things down a bit to show you guys the versatility of this dance. It can either be danced really fast, or can be more lyrically inspired to a slower song.

This week we danced to "One More NIght" which is a Maroon5 song, covered by Alex G. If you guys don't know her... you should seriously check out her youtube channel. (Maybe she'll be a dtube convert one day??) She has an incredible voice and covers some great songs.

Instead of filming on the dance floor (where it's really dark), we went off to one of to the side room that has a kitchen area. We could still clearly hear the music, but the lighting was better. I think that I might prefer the vibe of the dance floor better... even if it is darker. Doesn't hurt to experiment, right? :)

What is improv west coast swing?

It is basically where two partners have no idea what the song will be or who they will be dancing with... and they just create on the spot! Nothing is choreographed, it is all based on connection and communication between partners as we work together to interpret the music.
