Great Blue Heron swallows a Great Big Fish! (D-Tube EXCLUSIVE)
Watch a Great Blue Heron catch and swallow a 12" trout! This is my own original video and has not been uploaded anywhere else. This is a D-tube exclusive. Stay tuned for an upcoming post about this particular Great Blue Heron who has become a friend of mine lately :)

Pretty nifty footage! You must be tending that relationship well. Herons are actually quite sensitive to encroachment, I have noted.
People tend not to realize Herons are such effective predators. The trout nearly got away more than once, and the Heron was holding very tightly, as was evident by the wound on the trout when the Heron had to shift it's grip after nearly losing it's prey.
Another skillful thing the Heron did was to step away from the water, which would give it time to recover the trout should it have escaped the death grip completely.
Many people do not actually grasp the size of Great Blue Herons. That bird was tall enough to reach the chest of a full grown man, and it's wingspread probably wider than most men are tall.

I am working on a post about this particular Great Blue Heron. My unusual proximity will be explained :) And yeah - pretty incredible, huh? I honestly couldn't believe how big the trout was that it pulled out of the water. Right after it swallows the trout, you can actually see the trout flop inside its stomach. You can clearly see it from the outside. Crazy.

That fish had to have been wiggling in his gut. But, that's nothing a sip of water can't handle I guess.

This is awesome. But i know for sure that Great Blue Heron is highly sensitive, how did you manage to capture this with it noticing your presence

Ok. Normally this would not interest me at all, I however I watched it because I like your posts and you have an interesting view on things. So I pushed play. I. Could not watch as the fish struggled but I did fast forward to the point when he stopped moving, so I knew the worst was over finally. Then that freaky bird just gulped it down . Like ... a boss bird. You can tell that is a wise old bird. He has the perfect hunting or fishing spot too. A total pro fisherman . Then the end he just shakes it off like “what ? Who Is next?” That is a formidable predator for the critter beneath him on the food chain. Wow. Thanks, I think. Lol 🤪🐟🐦
