Confession Time | Self Upvoting & Voting Power | March Challenge
I confess that I've been self up-voting my posts, but in the spirit of thinking about managing Voting Power, we should really consider that self up-voting is taking away some of our voting power that could be used to support our community more perhaps. Today let's talk about it and I'm going to challenge you to at least consider it in how your use your Voting Power. Hope you enjoy the video.

I don't understand Steemit rules is not against self upvote so why the confession
In honor of the spirit in which you have made this video, I upvoted you 100%. Yours is just such a nice vision. However, I already tried what you're suggesting months ago and unfortunately, it didn't get me anywhere. There are just too many takers around and too few givers. I guess that's life and we have to roll with the punches.
As a result, I upvote myself as shamelessly as the next guy. By the same token, I'm watching very carefully who is a giver (they get back as much as I can possibly muster) and who is not (they get the absolute minimum decency commands). In any event, the "greed" of the likes of you and I with our minuscule SP pales in comparison to the circle jerk some whales are pulling around the Steem to reap the reward pool. And WE should feel bad? Yeah, right...
I would be in support of changing the system in such a way that self voting becomes impossible. While it's not, fine with me. I just work here.
Thanks for watching and for the comments. My perspective is simply to spread my voting power around to more comments and creators but I understand it isn't for everyone. Hope if nothing else, it just makes people think a bit more about it. Perhaps just or awareness :)

Actually, I'm on a voting break right now until I'm back to 100%. I just made an exception for this video because it impressed me. Right now, I'm only doing 5% on posts and 1% proof-of-life on comments. But yes, normally I upvote every comment 3 cents unless it's spam. Those I flag. And every post I vote as generous as possible - see above.

I never upvote my contents because I want to see its "real" value, that is, how people value it. I tried once to upvote one of my posts just to see what happens, and then immediately down-voted it, which, BTW, resulted in the monetary value going down. Maybe it is a coincidence, though...

It is very smart that You share a knowledge to other peoples minds about how they can help newbie creators let's say "like me" who started not long ago (as 7.03.18 it is 42 days here for me). Respect Captain Bob! :)

I have been thinking about this since the day I started here. I guess there is no wrong or right. For me, I upvote my posts 100% to show that I stand 100% behind that message which I want to share and the time and love that I put into this post.
But if I would start to post multiple things a day like photos, music and stuff like that I wouldn't upvote everything but just my personal highlight of the day. Because I want to use this voting power to support others and not only myself.
Once my vote will become really strong like 20, 30 or 40 Dollars I will also stop to 100% upvote my own content to not take everything from the author and curation rewards as well. And it's pointless as well being your own strongest curator. I always want the community to be my strongest curators.
You have a valid point. Does this apply to the use of bots as well?
I am 100% anti-bot. Never used them and I have no plans to use them in the future. Which doesn’t mean opinions can’t change. But right now definitely not.
I see your perspective and appreciate you sharing it. I certainly may change my mind, but for this month, I'm planning to spread around a bit more of my voting power a bit more to others in the community and share the love. Come April, perhaps I will change :)
Sounds like a good plan to stay open minded for new thoughts and also to spread some of your voting power to others. What I for example also don’t care about is the 30 minute rule. To wait until you get curation rewards. When I really enjoy a creator it’s okay for me if he gets 100% from my vote :)
