BuzzSteem: Virtue Signaling and Gun Control Rallies

in #dtube6 years ago

Hi guys!

So the main thing in the news for today was the "March For Life" marches that happened across the country in the United States. These rallies were held to rally for stricter gun control and for students/teachers/parents to air their grievances about school shootings. Of course it morphed from a potential opportunity to talk about real solutions into a grandstanding virtue signal fest where celebs and politicians alike capitalized on the opportunity to criticize the NRA and 2nd amendment in general, but who could expect anything less?

Anyway, check out this vid and chime in with what you think!

Thanks for tuning in!

Gun violence has always been a problem since their invention. This issue is made worse with centralization. The solution is to decentralize your schools (along with many other things). Kids have no business being in government indoctrination centers (if you love them). It will crush their spirit and turn them into automatons.

Authority wants to ban guns because these shootings will eventually end up at the bank once they start bail ins.

I wrote about this issue yesterday...

The corporate media focuses only on shootings with legally obtained firearms. They ignore the ones with illegally obtained firearms. Think about it.

Hey, my name is M3, and I'm giving you an upvote, and a subscribe. Me and my community of followers are trying to kill YouTube, and make DTube bigger and better than any other video site. YouTube doesn't reward creators like they deserve, so we're all helping each other out. Anyway, keep going! What we're doing really is the way of the future.``

I don't know why but your video stopped playing half way through. I totally get what you are saying about the blame of the gun. Just wanted to drop my thoughts into it, I am not American and I don't know the 2nd amendment as well as you guys. But over 20 years ago we had one school shooting in scotland called Dunblane, it shocked the nation and probably the world to the core. After that there was a change on gun control where you could apply or a rifle licence for the purpose of hunting, but handguns were outlawed because they were easier to conceal. I know its probably so much more than this but since we have had this law there has never been another school shooting since.

America is an extremely violent place with way too many guns. I just am not sure if banning guns is going to stop school shootings. It also doesn't explain why they are happening in the excess that they are!

I don't think they should be banned, but I do think that they should have a lot tighter
controls that they do currently, over here to have a gun you have to have a certificate to say you have not ever suffered with a mental health issues, you have to have the gun under lock and key and cameras around the place where the gun is kept and the police do 6 monthly checks. To top it off if you ever get in trouble even if its just a like an argument it could be enough to revoke the licence and sieze the firearm. But you are only licenced for the soul purpose of hunting.

I agree those laws make sense. I wish that people could be more reasonable. The extreme right thinks everyone is trying to take their guns, the extreme left does want to take everyone's guns. It's a mess.

I think that is part of the problem though your right to bear arms, we do not have this in british law. It is legal but within reason.

Makes me wonder what happened. We didn't have school shootings in the 70's and 80's. If I remember correctly it kind of started with workplace shootings that became known as "going postal" and later progressed into the occasional school shooting. Now, lately the shootings have become commonplace even if guns are marginally harder to get than they were back in the 70's. The guns haven't really changed much, but isn't it par for the course to only look at the one thing that hasn't changed versus everything else that has? One thing I suggest looking at is the most violent entity in any given place and look what the effect was on the population at large throughout history because I agree; taking the guns isn't going to curb violence but merely change it's form. What is next? Machetes, Axes and screw drivers? Golf Clubs? Baseball Bats? Cars?

I'm telling you Beth, the common sense party, but you're going to have to be the president. I'll be the vice president and write the manifesto. The cool thing about the common sense party is that we can agree to disagree as long as we're all going from a basis of Common Sense. For instance, I would disagree on the arming of teachers at the schools. I don't think it should be pushed for, but some teachers are very comfortable with firearms, and just that much of a deterrent of knowing a teacher could be armed, may be enough to keep some kids from coming in guns blazing. I doubt it would have much of an affect, and there are some things that may make it impractical, such as that they then become potential targets for police when they arrived to the scene, Etc, but I don't think it's something just to throw away without giving it some thought. Because a lot of times these shooters are cowards at the core, of course some of them have a death-wish and that's why they do this to begin with, but some of them are going on impulse and knowing they may get blown away before their little spree begins may be enough to deter them. I agree really the only way we can keep this from happening on a grand level like it is now is to go at the real problem which is our society and the psychology of a lot of these individual people. Better funding for psychologists in the school would probably help. But really we need to train our kids to look out for their peers and how notice when someone his hurting needs a friend and need somebody to speak up.l

Yassss Beth/Steve 2020! I will start printing bumper stickers.

I live in Brazil and oh boy sure I'd like to have gun rights here.

Instead, the only right I have is to shut up while criminals rob me. Or worse, if I'm not lucky.

That sounds terrible. I definitely don't know what a no-guns-allowed America would look like. My guess is: not pretty.

Good buzzsteam news

I can't believe that I am watch more DTube than YouTube.
