What is Teh Tarik Sundays?
It is the FIRST talkshow initiated by @branlee87 and @zord189 with the support from #teammalaysia witness & lead, @bitrocker2020 exclusively for #teammalaysia members to gain exposure for their posts.
Why Teh Tarik? Because its what we Malaysians drink at a mamak stall when we hang out with friends. Here is what is going to happen on Sunday Nights :
- Everyone is invited to join the Teh Tarik voice channel on Sundays at 10:00 pm.
- Everyone is given a chance to promote a post.
- You do not need to be the author of that post as you can promote your friend's post or a very interesting post for everyone to see.
- During your sharing, the post promoted will be shared in the Kopitiam channel for everyone to see. You will also get extra exposure. Your post may even be rewarded.
- Only the Moderators and Authors are allowed to speak in the voice channel. The listeners can and should engage in the Kopitiam Text Channel.
The Malaysian Guide
Teh Tarik - Directly translates into pulled tea. It is basically 'Hot Milk Tea' and the 'tarik', which means pulled gives the top of the milk tea some foam.
*Kopitiam - 'kopi' which means coffee in Malay and 'tiam' which means shop in the Hokkien language. Kopitiam will be our text channel in discord.
Teh Tarik Sundays | Ep09
Last nights Teh Tarik Sundays was a pretty fruitful one. We got to learn about 3 new initiatives and some tips and tricks about photography. I'm pretty sure a lot of the listeners have benefitted from last nights show and some are eager to try out the initiatives that were mentioned.
Looking back at all the Teh Tarik Sundays that @branlee87 and I have hosted, we are already in our third month already and sure time does fly when you're being productive and you're having fun. When @branlee87 and I started this Teh Tarik Sundays, we wanted it to be light and easy on the Author's part and also on our part. Where it didn't have to feel like a chore for us to host this. Truth be told, I have been feeling tired recently and almost wanted to cancel this week's Teh Tarik Sundays because there were no Authors registering.
So it has become more of a chore for me to chase/find down authors who would want to come on the show to share , which wasn't any of our plans tbh. We wanted Authors to come to us instead of us hunting for them. So it became more and more like a chore for me and it was tiring.
Thankfully enough the night before Teh Tarik Sundays, I had a meetup with @alvinauh and the others for a hearty dinner and when I was sharing how I felt about Teh Tarik Sundays they all gladly said that they could come in to Author a slot. I'm so grateful for these members who've continuously supported me and Teh Tarik Sundays. I do hope that in the future, newer members would come forth themselves to register a slot because this show is for them. If there are no Authors on that week, there won't be a show.
I would probably think of a changeup though if there are no Authors interested for that week. I do have plans ready but it's just there waiting to be executed. So we'll see in the coming weeks.
So for those who've not come on Teh Tarik Sundays, I encourage you to drop me a DM in discord and I'll get you a slot. When you're sharing your post, your post would get more exposure and definitely the support from the listeners. Listeners get to know you better and your thoughts when you were writing down the post. And with that, I hope to see new faces this week :)

How do I participate?
- Contact @branlee87 or @zord189 on discord to register your slots!
- The moderators will dm you when it is your turn.
- Every author will be given 1 minute to promote the post and 2 minutes for Q&A.
- Each author will have a maximum time limit of 5 minutes only.
- Post must be no older than 3 days old.
- Slot registration works on a First Come First Serve Basis. Limited Slots Every Sunday.
- Make sure you have a microphone.
- Moderators will DM you for a soundcheck an hour before the show starts.

I always enjoy seeing more initiatives and things setup for people to share and come together with their thoughts/ideas etc, like when I went to the first meetup ever in my state.
