Why is Obama looking so glum?

To be fair to Obama, I'd probably share this same facial expression if somebody said to me:

"We're gonna have to eat this discarded salmon half-eaten by a bear in the name of survival."

So I was going through my YouTube feed when suddenly I saw a thumbnail with Obama on the Discovery Channel featuring this guy called Bear Grylls.

I was like, "Cool. Obama is on TV again. Let me check this out what this is about and who is Bear Grylls."

Who is Bear Grylls

Yep. This guy.

Seen here eating what could only be described as a fresh heart or guts from an animal in the wintery cold.

Bear has earned his reputation as the ultimate survivor and there would be no better person to have by your side if ever you need to survive in the forest, desert sands, icy mountain cliffs or rocky canyon sides.

He could look around any environment and identify what is edible, what is not, where you can find safe shelter how to make a fire in the middle of rain and such.

He is not picky on food.

It's so entertaining to watch his TV shows especially when he brings celebrities along with him for a two-day adventure and goes:

We're gonna eat this maggot for dinner.

Interestingly... this trip with Obama happened while he was still President of the United States back in 2015.

Despite his busy schedule, President Obama dedicated a day to see the effects of climate change taking place up north at the Exit Glacier in Alaska.

What you are seeing here is the melting of these ice glaciers since 1993.

Also, they showed just how much has changed since Obama became President in 2008.

The melting of the ice is a grave concern because this will cause global sea levels to rise. Global consensus estimates that an increase of just 2°C in global temperature will see the country of Maldives underwater.

I enjoyed the episode very much.

It was both educational on climate change and entertaining to watch a human-side Obama travel with Bear as they also talk about family and life at the White House.

If we view the Earth as one with our human body, I like to think of climate change as an illness that is happening to one part of the body which you might not be feeling the pain right now.

But it is ever present and looming.

We hear the news of climate change affecting us like a game of chance. Who will be next after Puerto Rico?
