How To Get The Most Out Of dsound
Firstly I want to say that WE LOVE #dsound!.
@prc has created something amazing on a platform that's not really designed for music streaming at all. He has helped so many people by providing a fantastic additional income for hard working and talented musicians the world over and I would not have been able to start @MusicVoter without it. So thank you @prc and the curation team!
How To Get The Most Out Of dsound
Here are some basic tips so that will allow you to get the most out of this fantastic platform:
- Due to the underlying technology you can find that tracks don't always play so include some links to the track you are uploading on other platforms. Then people can still listen and more importantly comment on the Steemit post and let you know what they think! (if you find it too time consuming to get the track links from elsewhere then just include standard links to your profile. I use Choon & Musicoin (as well as Spotify) as you have the potential to earn a little more crypto there too! You can see an example here.
- Respond to people's comments. Build a network of like-minded musicians so you can support each other. You can use "ginabot" on Discord to inform you when someone comments on your posts.
- Be consistent - upload once a day. If you only have a small catalogue then it is fine to upload the same song again just don't do it more than once a week. This is actually encouraged by @prc and is the reason he included the date/time stamp in the URLs when you upload a track.
- Use the correct tags for the genre of music you are uploading. Don't be tempted to use the most popular tags on Steemit just to try and get more people to see your post. It just spoils it for everyone else and makes you look unprofessional.
- Join the @MusicVoter curation trail to get additional upvotes for your dsound uploads. You can find out more HERE.
- Don't hassle the dsound curation team if you don't get an upvote. All you do is annoy them and probably give yourself even less chance of being upvoted in the future. Just concentrate on making high quality and original music. Eliminate background noise and invest in a decent microphone if you are singing and spend some time learning how to mix and master using a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation).

I probably should have added that upvoting genuine comments on your uploads is also a kind thing to do to show your respect for the commenter (and if you have the vote slider downvoting spam at a small percentage too!).

Yes good point about the resteem! I would add that it's best not to do too many though otherwise people may start unfollowing if you overwhelm their feeds!
