Colorado Rock Climbing Drone View

in #drone6 years ago

Went out this weekend and filmed some friends rock climbing with camera and drone.
This was in Clear Creek Canyon (Near Golden and Central City). There some wonderful hiking trails and parking pull-offs to enjoy the view right off of Hwy. 6.

If you look closely, or zoom in, about 60% of the way up, you can see those same two folks on the cliff face. About 75% up you can see another. This gives you an idea how high they are climbing!

And then here, a few folks almost at the very top!

And finally, here is the drone flyover. Even though I modified some settings to slow down, it seems I'm still a little jerky with the camera movements. Notice the height limits of DJI Mavic Pro. I would have loved to gone a little higher and swooped down, but alas it is capped and I reached the height limit starting from the ground.

these are amazing! i am so against drones and i know what they are capable of --- but, this is still cool. i can't believe anyone can buy one these days, that still boggles my mind. thank you for sharing these shots and info. :)

Thanks for viewing and the comments. I have to admit, I was a little taken aback by the "big brother" and gov spy drones at first. Like nearly everything, though, there are good sides along with the bad depending on how they are used. They are now being used for rescue, saving lives as well as being able to give us photographers a whole new perspective.

And with the even more high tech FPV goggles, we can truly feel like we are flying with the Eagles! Many times I traveled that way in my dreams, and it's very rewarding to be immersed in the FPV experience, having wings without leaving the ground.

@ksteem i hear ya, it kinda freaks me out quitea bit. :)
OMG i love those vids of flying with the eagles and hawks and stuffs. LOL

Yes! As close to shapeshifting as most of us modern shaman wanna-be's can get!

@ksteem bah! i'm not a shaman or a shapeshifter ... LOL those are dark things where i come from. :p

Really? Dark? I've never heard of Shaman in a dark light. They are first and foremost healers and medicine men. Even shapeshifting in it's true form is not the dark "werewolf" type thing or actual physical shifting, it is more a form of mentally taking on the traits of the animal/person, ie: taking on a bear's strength or owl's wisdom to view from a different perspective or pull from our own inner resources.

@ksteem yeah i've explained it quite a bit and i think once to a comment in response to yours. i don't judge its just my way. there are many of my posts now that i've given my practice and how i choose to go ...
well these are your words, i'm not sure where you are getting them from, this is my experience and the native american way. i am just letting you know that shaman and shapeshifter is not an accepted form of practice and does not fall in line with your definitions you are expressing. again, i'm not judging. :)

Didn't take it as judgemental at all. I'm just one of those curious people that enjoy hearing different perspectives. Isn't that what make's life and people interesting? If we all thought the same and had the exact same experiences, how boring it would be. In most of my education, the shaman is considered an honored and respected member of the tribe, so I am very curious to hear how your's is different. I will maybe reach out on discord for more detailed discussion if you're open to it. I would be very interested to hear more how and where your perspective came from.
Enjoy!

If I was one of those rock climbers, and you had a drone, i'd ask you to bring up a sandwich :)

lol, now that's an idea. There were at least 4 other groups out there climbing. Now let's see 20 climbers at $10 a sandwich and $5 a coke.....

Cool, beautiful scenery and amazing adventure

Thanks! It was a fantastic day!

Yes, it's very obvious. Would be very happy to be together there
