Drawing Challenge #7 Two Wineglasses X Science Pic / 繪圖挑戰 #7 两只酒杯 X Science Pic

in #drawingchallenge7 years ago

Last time due to its requirement to be pencil sketches so I have to give up last competition, this time is free for all, so I can come back with more science, another cross over with #sciencepic~

Once again I must state, I am not good at drawing XD

how can wine goes without grapes?

Here comes the science bits

By definition, wine are alcoholic drinks made from grape fermentations, and the earliest trace of wine comes from China~ Red wines are the most common form of wine, as it is made directly from mashing up of the grapes. The redness of the wine comes from the grape skin which is rich in the plant pigment anthocyanin which I mentioned before in my color changing autumn, they are one of plant's most common pigments.

As many of you will know, wine and many other alcoholic drinks are made by fermentation. Fermentation turns the sugar in the grapes to alcohol and carbon dioxide, this process is usually carried out by yeast. The yeast are actually a type of fungi, during the fermentation process, the yeast will also metabolize other biomolecules, those organic biomolecules in turns determine the flavor of the wine. With different grapes (different starting biomolecules), different yeast (different fermentation organism), different fermentation processes eg. temperature, time (different conditions for biomolecules modification), all those will lead to different taste and smell of the wine. This is why certain vintage may taste better than others, everything from the growing of grapes determines the vintage quality~ Even scientists in the wine making industry cannot guarantee a consistent outcome of the wine~

So if you got some good vintage at home, cheers to that~

I followed and upvoted you.

thank you~

Red wine, we can made only white wine with natural fermentation ;)

Not sure whether i understand what you meant by there haha, can you please elaborate??

arenga palm, hehe.
