The announcement of Dragon Ball Fighter Z
For those of you that may have missed it: A new Dragon Ball fighting game has been announced in the past few days!
The trailer:
Using a (what they call) 2.5D style animation: The developers are creating a competitive game using advanced fighting game mechanics, which will allow players to hold E-sports tournaments for the game. But still leaving the game to be enjoyable for spectators to watch.

What is the publics reaction so far?
We have extremely hyped up DBZ fans who are competitive gamers and have been waiting for a game like this in a long time! While other DBZ fans are used to enjoying current DBZ games, like Xenoverse, which are completely diff
Thank you for sharing! I find it so wierd that no one has ever managed to create something else then just a fighting game for this universe. The story line is so rich, we could have definitely had something skyrim like. Not that I want to rain on your parade because this does seem like one of the best dbz games so far!
I agree. I also think an openworld style rpg/simulator in the DBZ universe would do amazing. DBZ has a pretty large fanbase as it is. So anything can work and be appreciated!
ever saw dragon ball xenoverse 2?
I think the video game mentality is that americans preffer violence and japanese are more interested with storylines. That's why great RPG like 'mother' was never released in the US. The original Dragon Ball was an RPG.
Really hope fighting games evolved into more open worlds, would be great if you can punch Cell through a bunch of buildings or mountains. Only to return to the sky or even to space.
