If you do not give back to the community you are not a good Steemian.
@hope.venezuela tried to collect Steem to give a family some rice, flour, etc. Only three Steemians gave a hand. Three of this whole community. Christmas is near. No shoppings can be done.

See...people prefer to not vote...it's hard to say No...I do it because I think it won't work...even if u get 100 Steem...it's nothing!
In some countries, people can live from 100 Steem. Basic food etc.
I agree if it comes to it it is nothing and if you receive much it is never enough. How about 10 dollars?
Something I have learned from seeing disaster cases is that some help is better than none.
For those who survive (or at least try to do so) in conditions that seem out of a war scenario, which seems little in more civilized places, it may be enough to last another day, one more hour, one more moment. Sometimes just supporting and moving on for another moment can make a difference.

Because I am already giving back to the community by curating people's blog posts and comments. In fact, I upvote only their blog posts and comments. I do not do self upvoting since 2018.03.20. I use my Steem to power up.
Everyone should do the same, and the Steem blockchain would be an awesome place on the internet. But nowadays many people are focusing only on their own blog posts.
And many more are leaving. The number of the daily active users is decreasing (dropping/falling). The greed and the selfishness of the people are ruining the Steem blockchain.
@xplosive Thank you for your answer. As I understand curating does not cost you anything plus you earn with it if you know how to do it.
As long as the platform is not seen as a social one (commenting, upvoting) and people do not engage and are focussed on themselves or join because they need an income it will be hard being here.
Many left too because of the neverensing downvoting. Rich Steemians too. If Steemit does not care you cannot blame people for leaving. I hope that will change.
