The Stomach is a vital organ of the human body, conforms its structure and function in a very acid environment, ideally to keep it relatively immune to infections.

However, many cases of ulcers, gastritis and stomach cancer are caused by the infection of bacteria capable of surviving that environment, neutralizing the hydrochloric acid produced by the stomach.

What is the Stomach?

In a simple way, it can be defined as a widening of the digestive tract, between the esophagus and the intestine; and in its walls are a series of specialized glands, which secrete substances that intervene in the process of digestion.

Also, it can be defined as the second portion of the digestive system; which mixes, stores, processes and initiates the assimilation of the foods, nutrients and medications consumed, as part of the digestion process.

Healthy Stomach

In this sense, a very important phase of having good health is associated with enjoying an excellent digestion. In fact, several studies have shown that a damaged or infuncional stomach is not able to absorb nutrients properly, causing low defenses, weakening of the immune system and the appearance of opportunistic diseases.

Therefore, from a healthy diet, a good digestion is reflected and both a stomach and a healthy organism are configured.

On the contrary, it is recognized that many gastric intolerances in adults are linked to an unbalanced, erroneous and destructive feeding of the stomach, progressive from the childhood stage.

In this context, it is stated that one of the keys to enjoy good health is based on a healthy stomach and this in turn requires a healthy diet, including all types of foods that provide enough fiber, energy, calories, carbohydrates, proteins, calcium, vitamins, minerals and oligoelements, among others.

Also, nutritionists recommend the consumption of three to five daily servings of fruits and vegetables, drink between 6 and 10 glasses of water a day and maintain a good physical, mental and emotional balance, to enjoy a healthy life.

Foods to Keep the Stomach Healthy

.- Green salads (broccoli, cucumber, courgette, artichokes, lettuce and cabbage, among others) and combined with other colors (avocado, hearts of palm, tomato, eggplant, cabbage, carrot and beet, among others) are necessary to consume daily.

.- The soup or cream of vegetables should be included at least three times a week.

.- Whole grains, such as rice, wheat and barley, among others; They are essential in the daily diet.

.- Consume fruits regularly, being the best the papaya, melon, apple, kiwi and bananas, among others.

.- Add in the interday diet grains such as beans, peas, lentils and chickpeas, among others.

.- Important to use natural seasonings in low proportions, such as ginger, star anise, oregano, turmeric, clove spices, cinnamon, chili, fennel, parsley, thyme, coriander, cumin, chives, rosemary, onion and garlic cooked.

.- Animal proteins, it is advisable to combine their daily consumption, at a ratio of a small small portion less than 100 grams of beef, pork, poultry, fish, shellfish and eggs.
