Tequila Dog Two Years After Being Run Over Photo Shoot

We found this dog over two years ago dying on the steps of our first apartment building here in Acapulco. The plan was never to have her this long, especially considering the fact that she turned out to have a bit of a crazy side. Alas two years later she has stolen our hearts and while we still have our bouts here and there we have grown fond of the one we've named Tequila, but more often call Ogre after a nickname I gave her when we got her.

This is just a yawn but she's definitely got a saucy side. She's bit me several times aggresively at this point which is what we think put her on the streets in the first place. Our theory is she was someone's dog gone wrong, dumped and eventually run over by the volkswagon that brought her into our lives. We didn't expect her to make it, and she did. We also didn't expect her to calm down, but she has to the point where we let her in bed with us here and there.

She's got a bit of an attitude problem and hates water, leading her to poop in the driveway during the wet season where she knows she's not allowed. It's a give and take with dogs, because she's just scary enough to keep things away from the house....sometimes. Mostly she just chases bugs, our cat and plots ways to eat more chickens/chicken shit.

But she's come a long way in these two years considering we couldn't even grab her before without getting bit, now we can pick her up and carry her like a kid. The chair is her choice for anyone wondering, it's her safe space where she likes sit most.
