He saw a squirrel but it took off out of sight and he has no idea where it went so he goes to high ground to get a better vantage point. Smart dog but the squirrel is smarter having gone down the embankment on the other side of the trail.

Jerry still put up a good show searching for him on the high ground and in the trees, he almost always goes the wrong way unless his eyes are on the target!
