Fun Friday - Peppers Playful Side

Pepper On The Attack! ..

I wanted to post about something fun today. Pepper, Molly and I were out in the backyard the other day, for after dinner business (not to get into details). We have a maple tree at the rear of our property that likes to drop what we called propellers, when we were kids. My inner kid wanted to come out to play, so I picked a few of them up and began tossing them into the air. They would reach a certain point, then begin to fall back to earth (I know! Gravity is a funny thing like that). They are designed by nature, that when they fall off the tree, they fall slowly to the ground with a twirly action. This allows the wind to carry the seeds for a distance.

As I Was Tossing Seeds Into The Air, ..

Pepper immediately took notice of this and moved closer. Molly never shows much interest in these silly things. She’s entitled to her opinion of our little boy games, and can just sit over there in the grass and pout about not having any fun. Hahaha. Anyhow, Pepper has taken notice of what’s going on and wants in on the fun. He has always loved chasing things, so I knew he would be over in an instant. This is something I’ve done before with him, but I didn’t know he was going to get this crazy! I got out my phone and was on the hunt to shoot a few frames of him jumping for the seed when I would toss it into the air. That didn’t happen quite as planned. He decided to beat me to the punch. I didn’t even get a chance to toss it up before he leaped up to snatch it right out of my fingers!! Well, he got the seed and my fingers. :-/ ouch.

Then the game is over. That was the end of the game. My fingers hurt and so was my pride.. Haha.. not really, I was just cold and the pups were done their business. I made it inside and was looking through the pictures I took. They’re not the best shots, but I thought some of Pepper’s facial expressions were priceless. This is the reason I wanted to share them and also thought that they would be fun.

Fun For Friday!!! ..

Here are the pictures of Pepper setting his eye on the seed then leaping for it, but instead getting my finger along with it. After dropping back to the ground with the seed, he simply stares at me waiting for the next attempt. He licks his lips in anticipation.
