Dogs actually love water
Most of the dogs know how to swim naturally. And with practice they get even better. The most detrimental thing to do is to never let a dog into the water because of you own fear. Dogs will catch up on that fear.
My brother has a bulldog and he almost drown when he went into the water. Unfortunately his head is too big! Bulldogs will never swim.
