CABINET MAKER X #4 Machining Oak Hand Rail.
Hi Good Wood Folks and welcome back to Cabinet Maker X,
Last week I showed you how I installed some oak hand railing I made made for a client of mine.
You can read that post here;
Installing custom made Oak Hand railing and Newel caps.
In today's video I will show you how I made the hand rail on my router table.
I was matching the shape of the existing handrail but only had measurements, so the first step was to make a scale drawing.
These are the cutters I used to achieve the shape.
In the video I used the cutters in the following order,
Yellow cove cutter. 1/4"
Red large ovolo cutter. 1/2"
Grey chamfer cutter. 1/4"
A straight cutter (not shown) 1/2"
I got the shape as close as possible with the cutters I had available and then finished the shape with a hand plane and sanders.
This was the first woodworking film I shot, even though it is # 4 ,so go easy on me I am still learning.

Thanks I try my best.
You do great work young man.....
Thanks Man as do you.
That's a lot of work! Got to love listening to the router screaming in your ears!
Yes I wear ear defenders for that exact reason. I turned the noise down to 25% on the video but had to keep it a bit real.
Do you often get wooden spikes in your hand, or are you used to it? What price do you sell your cabinets?
All the time I am now part wood. The price depends as each piece is individual.
