Karina's eighth birthday was a huge success. Before I continue any further, let me acknowledge that I can't believe my eldest is eight! Thats two years away from double digits. How in the world does time go by so fast!? Well, this year we decided to do something different. We had low key birthdays except for her first and sixth birthdays. We wanted this birthday to be special with our family and Karina's close friends. My only regret was not getting as may pictures as I would have loved too, but I guess that happens when you're busy hosting 17 kids.

I fist thought, lets rent a bounce house/moon walk for the kids and I know they would love it. So thats when this carnival idea came to my mind. Even though we had family that already owned a bounce house and we asked them to borrow it and that saved us good $250 on the rental cost. In return I used some of the money on decor and supplies.

I came up with some carnival games and mostly used things I had laying around, borrowed a couple of games from family, and spent some money on sand art and henna for the henna tattoos which were also done by my cousin.
These were the games played at the birthday party:
*Penny toss
*Guess how much
*The ol' switcheroo
*Ring toss
*Shoot some hoops
*Tic Tac Toe
*Bean Bag Toss
*Henna tattoos
*Sand art
*Photo booth

Tips on how my sister and I put all these games together.

Penny Toss
For the penny toss, I used plastic wine glasses from a previous party I had hosted and just taped them down to the table.

Guess How Much
I used an old candy jar that I already had and we used dum drums to fill it up

The Ol' Switcheroo
bought a 3pk of ping pong balls at the dollar store and red solo cups.

Ring Toss
This game was one of the borrowed. It included about 5 orange caution cones along with 8 rings.

Shoot Some Hoops
The second borrowed game consists of a very large bucket and just some basketballs.

Tic Tac Toe
My sister helped with the tic tac toe board in the picture above and she made the pieces out of large craft paper that I had found at Michaels on clearance. They are rainbow shaped, and she was creative enough to make the rainbows look like "X" and "O".

Bean Bag Toss
I had bought baskets from the dollar store, actually I think they were 3 for $1. My mom came up with a last minute idea to use lentils and old socks to make the bean bags. It worked out perfectly. Not to mention it literally only took about five minutes to put it together.

The Henna was purchased from a local Indian shop and I will link below where to get the sand art and lastly the photo booth props were from Amazon.

Of course I can not forget the amazing carnival signs that made the theme come together. The signs were from Etsy. My sister just downloaded the file and we just printed them. Quick and easy, I absolutely loved these. I'll also include the link of the Etsy shop below.
