Weltwirtschaftsforum erkennt Vorteile des Bitcoin Minings an/ World Economic Forum recognises benefits of Bitcoin mining
Nun macht auch das World Economic Forum (WEF) auf bestimmte Vorzüge des Minings von Bitcoin aufmerksam – wenn auch indirekt.
Das WEF stellt das Start-up Crusoe Energy vor. Dieses setzt sich zum Ziel, überschüssige Energie aus der Öl- und Gasproduktion einzufangen, um damit kostengünstig Computersysteme anzutreiben.
Somit verhindere man die umweltschädigende Verbrennung von sogenannter “gestrandeter Energie”.
Das WEF erwähnt das Bitcoin-Mining dabei zwar nicht direkt und redet stattdessen von “Datenzentren”. Jedoch zeigt der zweiminütige Film auch Mining-Anlagen, die auf Ölproduktionsstätten installiert wurden.
Außerdem geben Crusoe Energy auf ihrer Website explizit an, neben KI-Systemen auch Krypto- und Blockchain-Netzwerke zu betreiben, um die Umwelt zu entlasten.

Kryptowährungen können zum Umweltschutz beitragen, jetzt schwenkt auch der WEF um. Jetzt wo Kryptowährungen zunehmend Reguliert werden rechne ich mit mehr solch positiver Nachrichten.

Now the World Economic Forum (WEF) is also drawing attention to certain benefits of mining Bitcoin - albeit indirectly.
The WEF presents the start-up Crusoe Energy. Its goal is to capture surplus energy from oil and gas production in order to power computer systems at low cost.
This prevents the environmentally damaging burning of so-called "stranded energy".
The WEF does not mention bitcoin mining directly and instead talks about "data centres". However, the two-minute film also shows mining facilities installed on oil production sites.
Furthermore, Crusoe Energy explicitly state on their website that they operate crypto and blockchain networks in addition to AI systems in order to reduce the burden on the environment.

Cryptocurrencies can contribute to environmental protection, now even the WEF is changing its mind. Now that cryptocurrencies are increasingly regulated, I expect more such positive news.
