MAP Rewarder Free Upvote & Crypto News of the Day (Steem-Engine SCOT) - 30 April 2019

MAP Rewarder distributes daily upvotes or SBIs to our delegators - these are bonuses on top of the weekly distribution of rewards. I think this has worked well and will continue until further notice.

To make these posts more interesting, I shall also post a quote, video or news item related to developments in the blockchain and cryptocurrency space.

There you can read about the whole philosophy behind the bonuses offered to delegators; larger delegators obviously receive higher weekly payouts in STEEM terms, but smaller delegators can receive far more in percentage terms.

This is the first time I've included news from the Steem ecosystem, not because there hasn't been any, just that it felt that once I'd seen it, and the responses, it was already established news. Having broken the ice, I shall look out for more.

Essentially, it's [SMT] a robust tool, but it can do exactly one set of things. We're instead creating a smart contract platform that has the potential to respond to any if:then statement and create logic around it. We can replicate SMTs as we're doing now, but we don't have to stop there. We can create other contracts and do so faster than the Steem blockchain can be changed.

This is the part I like most: the freedom to create and discover a new economic system that might (just might) actually achieve Steem's original aims. A Steem V2 is desperately needed, but in it's absence a New Steem Economy built on top of the existing macroeconomic system seems to me entirely feasible. I wrote this thought piece some 3 months ago and the SCOT project is the first time I feel that the tools exist to do the job without having to tinker with the Steem blockchain innards.

I don't want a token, I want an economy.
