Dark Souls: One of the last games that respects the gamers intelligence -part 4

If you want your hand held I suggest you go play Angry Birds. As some what of a Souls veteran one of my joys in life is watching a friend attempt to take on Dark Souls or Blood-borne. I let them know I will not be giving hints or advise but instead I will be just watching and laughing. The Souls games take your expectations of a game and flips the script. If your looking for a map you wont find one you must remember where and how to get everywhere just like the physical world. on top of this you can go almost anywhere at any time and the path is your choice not the developers. this shows their respect for the gamer also. How many people went down and try to fight the skeletons instead of going up. neither way is the correct way how ever one why will get you killed over and over and well you get the point. something happen and you need to pause, lol nope we dont do that here. forget what you know about games and how to do things and how they usually work. The Fromsoft team realized that the gamers would learn and create techniques beyond what they could offer to teach you by holding your hand. In other words they respected the gamers intelligence by not having to hold your hand step by step. This is a game that forces you to learn and push the limits of trial and error and with so much on the line at times it puts you on edge. If you die and lose all your souls you might of just wasted the last hour plus and if you cant adapt and this happens again and again you yourself will become hollow . Just like the deep lore of Darksouls they left the digging and piecing together to the community and my hats of to them. -praise the sun
