While the word peafowl is the neutral term, peacock is the term for the male and peahen refers to the female one. Peafowls originate from India. The male peacock posess a very beautiful bright and shiny blue body including its head. Its fan-shaped greenish golden feathers are approximately 1.5m long and are for the purpose of courtship. In addition the feathers feature eye-shaped patterns for intimidation of its enemies. Also they live mainly on the ground they are still capeable to flight and their screems and rattling feathers are incredibly loud.

While the feathers of the peacock are closed their tail is only 50cm long, but still very beautiful to watch ;)

Thank for the great photography! This is one of my favourite birds, the colours are always so eye-catching! I had no idea that they could still fly though...

Wow .. thx a lot for the feature, I really appreciate it ^^ .. I also find this peacocks very eyecatchy .. Nature was really creative the day that wonderful feathers were evolved ;)

No problem! @pifc is a great initiative if you are interested in following it and participating! Steem is a difficult place to get started in, and it is good if we all help each other discover new accounts!

Peacocks are amazing... it is so funny that the male is just so showy, but the females are so drab in comparison!

Very well featured! I love peafowl, but most of us never see the other side of the bird when he's displaying. Thanks for doing such a thorough job.

I found you thanks to @bengy featuring you in the curation contest - keep up the great work!
