Another fantastic topic that I just have to comment on!!

The last time I was in the US, I had a conversation with my mother about a related topic. We were commenting on the number of people her age with Alzheimers, cancer, and other diseases that you just didn't see in these quantities in previous generations. While we spoke, it hit me that my mother--who is in her mid 70s--is probably the first of what I have now nicknamed, the "guinea pig generation". This is the generation that moved away from wholesome food--probably grown at home or nearby--and into processed food grown and raised with all kinds of extra chemicals. No matter how much testing they could have done on artificial colors, preservatives, pesticides, hormones, etc., there was no way to test the long term effects; that kind of testing takes time and cannot be accelerated.

What if what we are seeing now in our older generations coupled with the amount of intolerance we are seeing in younger generations are all the long-term results of this? I say this without any blame right now, because I truly believe that the beginning, scientists and consumers thought they were safe. But seeing the current state of affairs, I would encourage everyone to do a double take on what you put in your grocery cart!
