Dear coffee addicts on Steemit,
Coffee is said to be the most widely consumed beverage in the world aside from water. But we all know that coffee is more than just a beverage, it is part of a lifestyle, a moment of pleasure and feeling of being at home. Nothing better than a cup of coffee for a coffee junky. :)
This contest is targeted to all the coffee addicts out there. We all know that everything gets better with a cup of coffee in our hands! Coffee can make us feel happier, just smelling it can ease our minds and reduce our stress levels.
So let us honor our daily coffee by hosting and participating this contest!
How to Participate
Just take pictures of you preparing and enjoying your vegan coffee on at least 2 consecutive days (the more the better). Be sure to comply with the eligibility rules (see below).
Eligibility Rules
Please follow these rules in order for your entry to count and in order to have a possibility to be considered for the prices.
- Include the tags #dailycupofcoffee and #vegan as two of your possible five tags.
- The first part of the title of your post should be "My daily cup of Coffee Challenge:" Followed by your own title. Be creative!
- Make a posting about your daily cup of coffee with pictures of your coffees on at least two consequtive days (i.e., at least two different coffees).
- All ingredients of the coffees must be plant-based (vegan) and must not include any animal products (e.g. cow milk).
- Please include at least four pictures of your coffees in your posting (e.g. if you portray two coffees, include two pictures regarding each coffee), showing for example ingredients, procedure and final products.
- Do not only include photographs, but also include a short description and the story around your coffee (Ingredients, When and where did you drink it? How did it taste? What is special about it?)
- Submit only one contest entry that includes the pictures and descriptions of all your different coffees (e.g. coffee on day 1, coffee on day 2)
- Share the link of your contest entry post in the comment section of this post.
- Upvote & resteem this contest posting in order to make it more popular.
- The submission deadline of your entry is 24 hours before post payout (DEADLINE ALREADY EXPIRED).
The prizes
The three entries that are deemed to be the best by the judges will get the following prices:
- 1st prize: 2.50 SBD
- 2nd prize: 1.00 SBD
- 3rd prize: 0.50 SBD
Anyone wishing to increase the worth of the prizes and to be a sponsor of this contest is most welcomed. Just let me know in a comment to this post.
Advice
The following advice is optional, but following it will certainly give you a push forward!
- Submit pictures of coffees on more than 2 consecutive days!
- Make sure that you make every coffee somewhat different - this makes it more interesting.
- It is a big bonus, if one can see you on the picture and if you show some emotions!
- Use different types of coffee! Use different types of preparation, different plant milks, add different spices to add some specialness to it.
Winner Selection Criteria
Entries will be evaluated according to the following criteria:
- Detailedness of description (not too short, not too long) (20%)
- Uniqueness of idea and creativity (20%)
- Visual presentation, equipment and surrounding (20%)
- Visibility and authenticity of you and emotional power (20%)
- Number of portrayed coffees (at least 2) (20%)
The winners will be selected by myself @smallstepschange and @chetanpadliya. I am very glad and honoured that Chetan, who has a lot of experience regarding contests, supports me as an honorary judge. Remember, the decision will be final once the result is announced. No cash disbursement and/or an replacement of the prizes is possible and recourse to the courts is not permitted. The host of this contest reserves the right to change the conditions at any time.

Hmhm, ja, WIE viel, das wird sich im Lauf der Zeit auf meinem Blog entfalten. Das mit dem Café ist einfacher erklärt. Der Zufall will es, dass ein Bereich meines Hauses im Südburgenland zur Science Fiction-Bibliothek erklärt wurde. Mir wird gerade klar, dass diese Story lustig ist und doch einmal erzählt werden sollte, obwohl ich meinen Blog hier nicht mit SF "zuspammen" will. Kurz und gut, obwohl meine Leidenschaft eher Sachbüchern gilt (klingt das aber nüchtern!), beherbergt das Haus nun eine SF-Bibliothek. Ein Freund, der die Realisierung des Projektes unterstützte, hatte die Idee, dieser Bibliothek mit einem Café samt einer kleinen Kaffeeküche mehr Komfort zu verleihen. Als glühender Douglas-Adams-Fan regte er an, das "Kaffeehaus" zu Ehren seines geliebten Schriftstellers "Café am Ende des Universums" zu nennen. Und so kam es. Mehr noch: Es gibt inzwischen sogar einen "Schanigarten" - bei Schönwetter kann man sich auch im Freien dem Lesevergnügen hingeben und sich an pannonischen und intergalaktischen Köstlichkeiten laben.
Aber nur als privater Gast! Diesen Spass kann ich mir auch nur erlauben, weil das Südburgenland allein schon sehr abgelegen ist und mein Haus noch weit abgelegener! Bisher hat sich erst eine Handvoll Besucher ins Café verirrt - Familienangehörige und drei Freunde. Für den Rest des Jahres dient mir dieses Areal als gesamtkreatives Atelier.

Es kann manchmal ganz gut sein, nicht komplett im Zentrum, sondern etwas abgelegener zu sein. 😉

Muss man den Donnergurgler gurgeln bevor man ihn trinkt? 😄
IGE sind virtuelle Anerkennungseinheiten, die real durch Einwurf von gängigen Münzen in Spartierchen, aber auch mittels Steem und SBD abgegolten werden können... ;) Dies ist aber in Anbetracht des täglich stattfindenden Weltuntergangs nicht besonders relevant.
Einen Donnergurgler, ob nun den galaktischen oder den pannonischen, zu gurgeln, ist nicht ratsam, denn das könnte zu einer Selbsterfahrung werden wie bei der Geschichte mit den Senfindianern. Bisher hat es aber auch noch keiner gewagt und daher kann ich keine klaren Aussagen machen, was passieren könnte... ;)

Ich denke ich werde mitmachen, könnte ja mit meinen ersten Kaffee nach meiner Prüfung schon anfangen. Nur ich glaube ich muss mich vllt. mit Milchschaum probieren, bin ja sonst Schwarz wie die Seele unterwegs :D

ALL coffee is vegan, I think!! So the only disqualifier is what you put into it, to sweeten or lighten it. If one adds two tablespoons of non-dairy creamer, that would still seem to qualify as vegan, no? I could be drinking Jamaica Blue Mountain or any other complex, exotic coffee, but if I can't add cream (or creamer!) it would be an unpleasant experience. Otherwise, I'd love to participate!
Hey Ed, thanks for your comment. You are right, coffee is vegan - except some rare variants where the beans are digested by cats. Maybe you have heard about it.
It the non-dairy creamer does not contain any animal products, this would qualify as vegan.
There are also other options: using plant milks (such as soy milk, rice milk, oat milk, spelt milk, almond milk, etc.).
