Cycling Stories: Romania is the perfect cocktail of bears, aggressive dogs and stunning nature.
Altough I am light years behind in writing about my cycling trip in the many countries I already have been going through, I wanted to share my moment in Romania a couple of days ago when I was camping in the wild Transylvania. If there is something iconic about Romania it is the massive population of brown bears they are having.
But one thing is getting told about the bears. Another is to see actual evidence of them walking the same paths that I am cycling. Hopefully my terrible loud singing will keep them off my path!
To avoid any bears coming into my tent to give me a hug, I decided to put my food outside of my tent. I don't care if they eat my cereals, just not me. When I woke up in the morning and went to check my food something for sure had been there. If it was a bear or something else I could not tell. I kept my bags open so if anything wanted to get my food, it would not have to crush my bag.
There is a reason for why I start to think Romania as my second home
Besides the constant fear of bears and the aggressive shepherd dogs chasing me away. the nature here is truly a gem in Europe. As one of the few truly wild areas in Europe it is a dream for any outdoor adventurers inside of Europe. Also why Romania is slowly becoming my second home besides Denmark. Their corrupt government sucks, but the people, the culture and nature are just beyond great. It is a mystery to me why this country are not having a larger amount of tourism. But to be honest for my own selfish reasons of wanting everything for myself, it is fine to feel like the country is not getting too spoiled by tourism.
There's something symbolic about that I have cycled from Denmark to Romania
This connection I have between Denmark and Romania is unique and now I have made it by bike right across Europe. These two countries are so different that it is funny to think about how I can like them both so much. But it feels great to have completed another great stretch of my cycling journey and reached this milestone. Brasov is also where I will be finding a job to get some more cash for my continuous cycling journey. Steemit is a great help in my budget but right now I dont like to sell my steem, I rather bundle it up some more for better investment. Also Brasov(the city in romania) is a great place to have a base to explorer all of Transylvania by bike and hikes.
I still have tons of stories of my cycling journey and probably more to come! So I promise you wont get bored!
See you on the road

Spectacular landscape shots again! I heard so many great things about Romania and this post just put this country a bit higher in my travel list :)) I know they have herds of wild horses living there but I didnt know they have such a large population of the brown bear. Man the foot print looks amazing and terrifying at the same time! :D
Good luck on your journey!
Btw I use that trick with singing too when I dont feel safe in a forest :DD

Transylvania is where the legend of "Dracula" takes place. His castle is also located here! Some people in villages still believes in vampires.
I hope, I will able to do like that, one day.
Wow :)
I am following and waiting for a new adventures.
Cycling is my passion also and the dogs are great fear :) ...
I don't know would I be able to cycle Romania now after your story..
And Shepard dogs , they are the worst
haha the dogs are quite scary but on the other hand I have not gotten bitten once. They only bark, that's all
Great to see you're in Brasov! I love that place. I've only been there a couple of times, although I lived in neighboring Hungary. Looking forward to the continuation of your adventure, and also to reading cool posts about your current "post" in Romania.
