Steemit Update [ March 18th, 2022 ] : Community Curators for April - Applications Open
The Community Curators have now been running for two months.
It is has been very interesting to watch the teams in action.
There have been one or two issues but much has been learnt along the way and we are now ready to recruit new teams for April.
One of the main problems has been lack of quality content in certain subject areas, as well as other areas not being covered by the curation themes. We have therefore made some changes to the themes this month.
We look forward to reading the applications. Existing teams and existing team members are welcome to apply again.
The Community Curator Teams for April
We are looking for the Curator Accounts to be managed by teams of up to 7 people.
Within each team we would like to see a diversity of nationality and language.
The themes for the teams for April are…
Arts - art, crafts, photography, music, poetry, creative writing…
Finance & Technology - finance, business, crypto, science, technology, computing…
Lifestyle - health, fitness, sport, leisure, food, travel…
My Life - the Diary Game, My Town in Ten Pics, acts of kindness, charity…
Steem Growth - Steem promotion, marketing, development, contests…
Curation teams can be made of people that are already involved in running existing communities, as well as people who are not.
Teams should not include more than one Country Representative from the same country. They should also not include more than one person from the management team (Founder, Admin, Moderator) of any single community.
Every member of a Curation Team must be committed to at least #club5050, and ideally #club75 or #club100. Preference will be given to teams with most members doing #club75 or #club100.
How to Apply as a Curation Team
Prospective Curation Teams should appoint a Team Leader who should make a post including…
Which of the five themes above they would like to curate for.
Details of the team members (nationality, languages, Steem history, #club status).
Why they would make a good curation team.
Anything special about how they will do their curation to ensure the widest reach.
How they will ensure they will not vote for any posts with plagiarised content.
Keep posts brief and easy to follow. Include the tag #curatorteamapplication in the first four tags.
Applications can be made in any language.
Posts should be submitted by 11.59pm UTC, on Monday, March 28th, 2022.
How will Curation Teams be rewarded
Every day the teams will be allowed to allocate one full vote to a member’s post - ideally in rotation.
In total therefore no more than 10% of the account’s voting power should be used on team members each week.
Additionally each week one member should post a report for the team in the Steem POD community with a list of their top 7 posts, with a brief note of why each post was chosen.
These posts should set beneficiaries to share the rewards with other members of the team.
The posts will be voted by @steemcurator01.
And finally…
While these are guidelines, rather than hard rules, we are hoping the Curation Teams will favor posts that are #steemexclusive and following at least #club5050.
Plagiarism of any kind will of course not be tolerated.
The plan is to rotate the Curation Teams every month. Although some teams who are performing particularly well may be invited to continue the following month.
To give more impact to the Community Curator program, the Steem Power on the @steemcurator accounts has been increased from 250,000 SP to 500,000 SP.

We hope many other people will also be inspired to join teams to apply for this great opportunity to help grow the platform.
The winning Curation Teams will be announced by the end of the month, with a view to starting at the beginning of April.

Ahh! I became unfortunate when the new positions were announced, but I am glad we can still apply. None of my team members are from the same community with similar functions.
The changes in the themes are magnificent as older tags did not cover most of the content in the previous area, and now it will be better to reach many quality contents in this way.
I liked the addition of new tags like #contests; # Mytownintenpics was a must-have, especially the steemit promotion.
I am happy to be part of the very first curation team, and our team ''THE PERFECT SEVEN," will come up with a new application to be part of this initiative in the future.

Woah! I wasn't ready to part ways with my exceptional and most organized team. We actually enjoyed two months of curation and did our best.
It would have been nice to hear from the Steemit team about the performance of each team. This could have helped them improve and help new teams perform better.

I see that there were positive changes in the categories, and it was really necessary to include the promotion of steem and contests, thanks.
I would also like to know if the category video games (gameplay, reviews) will be available for curation, since this is a category that has not been fully exploited on steemit and I am sure that many people do not post about it because they do not know if that content will be valued.
Since 2020, people's interest in video games has increased and it is currently a global trend and will continue to be so in the future. Including NFT games. I think we have a great audience on Steemit that will contribute original content. I hope it is considered.
On the other hand, I want to thank and congratulate all the curation teams that motivate content creators on Steem every day, they did a great teamwork these two months.

Yes, it's really a good idea to add games in one of the category of community curators. Because people will share quality content on it and it's would be good for steemit too. It encourage users to post more content about NFT games. I hope curators will think about it for next month. Greetings

Glad to see again an update. The previous curator team worked well although there were a few people who cheated the system but overall that was a great performance.

As steemit team introduced new theme Steem growth would cover many content of the platform.

Hello @steemitblog currently #steemindia is facing the problem of getting no support from booming or even sc07 which we earlier used to get. We don't have any active Country Representative from India due to which no reports of active members or best posts are being choosen I request @steemcurator01 sir to grant the permission to prepare active list of users in steempod Community from Official account of @steemindiaa. Many Indians are being inactive due to no Support who earlier produced quality contents and want a Country Representative from India who works honestly for the country and members .
You can't complain of not recieving support from SCO7 when you don't make any post on the theme. Sco7 covers users with interest on science, technology and computing. Everyone writing with this tag from any country or community is supported. You should encourage your members to be active writing in our team and not complain about not recieving support. Thanks.
Sir I am sorry to say but its a request and not a complaint What I mean to say is like earlier sapwood provided the list and based on the number of posts and comments we used to get votes from sc07 which was also one of the curation account for India as earlier there was no curation team formed , now there is no one to do the same so I am seeking permission and not making complaint 😊🙏 how can I make complaint to such a platform who supported me in my worst and good times both infact I am lucky and proud to be a member of this platform . I want to work hard to Represent my Country and bring back the glory which had been faded by our prev. community admins and representatives by their foolish act of powering down and one more thing we have got support from the arts and science team both on the basis of which some people are active and working hard daily so I want to thankyou for that as a team leader @reminiscene01 sir and I can never make complaint regarding you and your skills sir you have been an amazing professor and a humble person.

There's no problem. All you have to do is encourage Indians interested in science, technology and computing to be active to recieve support from SC07. There's no limit as long as you meet requirements and follow the guidelines of our team.

Your points to be noted We got support from only sc04, we didn't get support from other curators
The reason why our authors did not get support on their posts is because they did not follow the rules and guidelines in the first place. We the team #sevengers members have been searching for content produced in the #science, #computing, and #technology theme areas but we seldom found a few posts and that too were from authors that were not Indians. We can not blame curators if we ourself are not producing content in the specific category.
This shows the lack of information and research from authors side and we expect people who are getting support from curators to guide newcomers to post good quality content in any specified categories being curated by the curator04 - curator08
Ok, I will make a post related to these tags and also suggest my friend follow that same, also can I add the #technology tag to my graphics posts which are also one of the technologies(Computer and graphics) I am using in it. Thank you for your kind attention
#Graphics is almost a different category in itself. And the new guidelines have allotted the graphics category to a specific curator and you can check that in the notice above.
#technology category contains technical posts only and graphics related posts must never be shared in the #technology category tag.
I am also belong from india and continuously try to produce quality post. I stopped writing because I was looking forward to an indian community who work for their members selflessly.
By the grace of God I found a beautiful Indian community @steemindia and a hard-working admin @monz122 who try to reach almost every post regularly.

Just because you are not getting support from curators does not mean that you should stop posting. The conditions are pretty much in favour of authors now and communities are getting strong day by day. Eventually you will also start getting support from everybody else.
You just have to be consistent and produce good quality content.
You are partially right and do not understand the feelings of not getting support, after creating several quality posts.

I am here on this platform since 2017 September and only those people who are early adopters know the pain of not getting support. So, I know how hurt a person might feel after all the hard work they have put in to create the post. But, this does not mean that you stop posting.
Nowadays, authors only have to read the guidelines and follow all the rules and create quality posts to get the support.
