Something for Steem developers - how to properly count post curation, where bots are included?
You might be asking yourself, did I maybe change the topic, as this is little bit different post as usual? The answer is no. Well, maybe this time :)
Why am I doing this? In last weeks, I've been seeing pretty big cuts, taken only for curation in usual steemit posts. More about curation on channel steemitromney
Do not understand me wrong, I would not totally disable curation on bot up-votes. With all bots, that can be used as prepaid up-voters, curation would have to count only for the profit, made by bot. Well, now it also counts all the money you invest into the bot (total sum)...
Why, you might ask?
Because now, posts where those bots are used....are "worth" much more because of the money, invested into the bots to get the up-votes. That invested money into the bot, does not present any profit for the writer of the post. Even though, curation is subtracted from this sum.
Let's make an example:
Jack makes a post, where he gets 1 SBD from commentator's up-votes
After that, he sends 3 SBD to the bot, and few minutes after, he gets an up-vote from same bot, worth 4,5 SBD
Jack's post is worth 5,5 SBD. Right?
It's all good, until it gets to the seventh day, and most writers have to cut 20-25% for curators.
Something doesn't smell right....
Curations are always taken from the sum, which represents the profit for writer, made of the current post, right?
Does 3 SBD, (Jack sent to the bot) represent his profit? No, it doesn't. He got 4,5 SBD from that bot, so profit is only 1,5 SBD
So what would be the right sum to consider for curations in Jack's example?
5,5 SBD (final payout) - 3 SBD (money invested into bot) = 2,5 SBD
2,5 SBD is his profit, and that should be the sum, from which all curators can take their cut
So I hope something in this direction can be done. Yes, it would demand bigger change in the system. But I think this would be the right direction. As we can't just single handedly change the rules, I am asking developers, to think about that change. And if anybody of you, dear readers, know for any steem developer, please share

Hi @worldfinances,
Congrats! Your post has been featured on The Daily Qurator #40. I hope you like it!
Your Quality Curator,
Dr. TLK :D
That's great. Thanks, doctor :D
This is why I have restricted myself to only using randowhale and minnowbooster when it comes to big buys. I buy an upvote from them as soon as I make the post that way the upvote is made in the first few minutes the post is live. Upvotes made in the first five minutes go almost entirely to the author.
True. After 30 minutes you give whole 25%. That's why some members upvote you with very small upvote 20 minutes (or more) after you publish your article. But in the end you can not give more than 25%, so more votes you get, less every voter gets
Your post has got vote from bots too. :)
Hope thar your argue will be heard.
Some bots are set already by deafult, and the other ones you see because of promotion on discord. I hope that developers will see the post. Otherwise (if post will not be more widely shared) I will try to send them a link, so at least they think about that option

The resposibility here still lays with the one using the bot. It's why I am very careful using paid upvote bots. Simple solution, stop using them...
Now I always calculate before I use them. As in some cases you can end up with less than you invested. Or as you said you can stop using them.
