Working Title (MSP Poetry Curation)

One day
when the revolution's done,
when hope is not some shiny
squalid thing
for one-armed bandits,
I will know him.

The Vanguard by @lazarus-wist is a strong and complex piece. I love the theme of how people can surprise us, and how it's communicated through juxtaposition.

When the Tower of Babel fell,
that was an act of creation,
not of destruction,
to rival the creation of the World.

Final Will and Testment by @geekorner (AKA The Thundergod) is such a strong piece- the biblical allusions, juxtaposition, and the surprise ending that kind of pops at you- work together to form a message that many poets might be familiar with. He also talks about having to walk away from a piece prior to publishing it, something I have also done a number of times (some for over a decade).

Kalon scribes runes in inK
across pages of disparate maniA
engraved memories, wakefuL
in time's echoing staccatO
illustrating what's drawN

The Thrum of Kalon by @raj808 bases his poem around an ancient greek word for more than skin-deep beauty, as well as the acrostic format. I love this piece because, as many words as there are in the English language, sometimes we are still missing words for very specific emotions. Sometimes another language says it better than we can.

Each day we sit and wonder where have our dear children been taken
Never thought when we arrived, that we, and them, would be forsaken
Using them as pawns, so you may build your big wall
Ransoming these innocent children, we hope will be your downfall.

The Deception by @skiponline steps out of comfort zone that most poets have- many of us talk about love and emotions, but rarely speak of politics. This is a particularly polarizing topic right now, and an important one. Poets have a duty to speak out on anything that elicits strong emotion- I applaud @skiponline for expressing himself through my favorite medium.

Unabashedly my throat did lilt as I was carried away with the breeze.
Softly I succumbed as the smoothest of silks washed over me like rain. I was consumed.

The Abyss Within by @stellarbelle talks about how love can lie dormant but be awakened by the most simple of moments. The language and the beat is soothing in an interesting way that I think other poets would enjoy as well.

Great selction, Kara:) Thank you for all you do:)

Thank you for the mention and your kind comments, I very much appreciate it! :)

Congratulations gentle man! ): you won as I said .

Thank you @sunravelme. For inclusion and your visit/comment/curation on my poem. It was one of those posts which received only spam comments until you dropped by. It can be a little disheartening sometimes when that happens, but you have saved the day with this lovely surprise. Thanks again :-)

Thank you for the continued support, and the kind words, Kara :3

Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to this post, but wasn't feeling well. And putting pieces to rest a while is a different experience for me, who usually blurts pieces out nearly done, and then hammers at them quickly.

But hey, it helps to gain more perspective into the processes of others, and to prepare for projects where you have to send something off to someone else, and wait.
