Austria -- Friday the 13th

Houses can be ornately painted and trimmed, clothing can be colorfully loud, but things are tempered by respect for tradition. Yet, sometimes when you least expect it, life can become surreal – and in this Austrian village it did just that!

@paolobeneforti: Pasolini was a controversial figure in the cultural melieu of his time. He was also a provocateur, and payed a price for that (probably with his life too). But the reason for his legacy being still alive today is not his being a much discussed public figure, in my opinion.

@mrblinddraw: The inspiration behind this image lies in the movement of her hair, the expression in her face, and the amazing stripes on her clothing. I wanted to highlight her reddish hair by adding gold tones. The image captures her, but I believe it also captures something about the beach and ocean that is fun and reminds me of summer.
