The Continent had been shifting on the Ocean floor for quite some time. Five eons at least. Now the time had come to make an impact. The Continent itself never sought the clash but it turned out to be inevitable. @madevi

Good day to you all!

As you will be aware, we have been discussing and deciding on some new rules to make this community more vibrant and valuable for it's members.

Some of the changes have hardly been noticed, like the added roles. But the new posting rules are a definite change to how things used to be. Until yesterday you could just dump your link in the #poetry-posts-promo channel and move along. This just attracted a lot of "link dumpers", people who are not active members. So we looked at other channels and took some bits and bobs and came up with these rules.

1. Use #poetsunited tag. (Nothing new here)

This tag is the connector of this community, our "Bat sign" on Steemit.

2. you have to upvote and comment on two previous posts.

As you know upvotes and comments are important. If we regularly upvote and comment each others posts we all benefit. And this will make the #poetsunited tag gain presence, which in turn will again benefit you.

3. you will need to leave short explanation of your work, what it is, why etc...

You've probably scrolled through a promo channel before and know that just a link is, well, just a link. So some small explanation of the subject etc will do. Use this to entice people to click the link!

4. include the two tags of the people you upvoted when posting your link here.

It's no use to have rules if you don't check if they are being adhered to, so that's why we want you to mention the two tags.

I hope you all understand that we're doing all of this for the community. We make the success of this community together!

So lets get to the poetry. Only four illegible entries for today so I will review them all. One of them is my own, I will leave that to last.

The best poem for today is for sure this gem by @ange.nkuru. A true poet he shows himself to be! In this poem he describes the processes going on before the transformation. He describes the tense chaos, the inertness and eagerness going on right before such a major transformation very nicely. To me it is also a very good metaphor for a winter depression. Vitamin D folks!

The Butterfly effect

The second poem I present today is called "Love is a strong word" and was written by @akinboyewa. In it he shows the word "love" to be a blessing and a curse, I think we can all relate? I really liked the fifth stanza a lot, so pay attention to that!

This third poem was written by @cheryldavis and I love the flow of it. The poem deals with the turmoil that you get when you can't be with or without someone. The heartbreak and longing are strong in this one!

The last poem for today is mine. In it I attempt to lay bare a bit of the Dutch national soul when it comes to ice, ice skating and the Race of Races... I warn you, best put on a scarf and some gloves :D
