Clayboyn's Curation Corner 4/12/18
Hello everyone, I've been digging through the philosophy tag again searching for gold and I've found another five awesome posts for everyone. Each post will receive a vote from my own account and a vote from @msp-curation to give them a boost and one of the posts is going to be resteemed from the official @minnowsupport account. My first pick this week comes from @akvandy. I enjoyed reading the authors philosophical musings and it seems they come to a similar conclusion as I do as far as trying not to limit and define things by my own understanding of them. It was a fun read.
Next up, a steemian that I've followed for a while now, @alchemage, explores the concept of consciousness and how we must use consciousness to define consciousness. It's an interesting perspective and good food for thought. Perhaps consciousness is just its' own understanding of what it is and we shouldn't let it limit itself.
I'll be the first to admit I'm a sucker for posts discussing the philosophy of The Matrix. Well @cloudbuster doesn't disappoint and jumps straight into one the biggest wormholes in the series. If you're a fan of the series you should check out this post and the author's take on the whole "red pill" situation.
@artisticscreech shares their thoughts on using psychedelics and cannabis medicinally to treat or prevent mental illness. This is something that I have thought about quite a bit and I generally tend to lean in favor of allowing people to have the option to explore these things for themselves. It's a good read about the potential benefits of doing so and I would be interested to see a shamanic branch of psychology in the future.
My final pick this week comes from @tonyr as he discusses his thoughts on the purpose of existence as opposed to the lack thereof. It's an interesting read and I always enjoy @tonyr's writing style. Before having joined Steem i had already given up to look for actual philosophic topics on social media... Thank you for the compilation, quite inspiring!
We have a lot of philosophical minded individuals here and I do a radio show on Saturday night that I usually upload afterwards. Steemit is a cool place for meeting like minded individuals for sure.
