Automate your upvotes with Steemvoter. Maximizing curation rewards.

in #curation7 years ago (edited)

Busy. Busy. Busy bee.

Busy. Busy. Busy me.

Steemit and our busy lives.

My head is still spinning from my Abu Dhabi-Dubai-Abu Dhabi trip today. My driving best friend, Waze has brought me to a route which for a moment, I thought would bring me to Saudi Arabia instead of home. LOL. Still, I'm here, putting up a post which I have been planning to for quite some time.

Truth of the matter is, we all have our lives outside of steemit. There will be posts from our favorite authors that we may miss. We'd love to read as much interesting blogs as we can too. We would like to maximize our curation rewards. But how?

Growing Community

There are also lots of great authors to follow, at the same time we also have our own sub-communities to support. In my case, we have a growing group of Steemians here in the UAE. They are an active group and most are posting daily. And boy! I tell you I am having a hard time coping up with curating their contents!

Since then, I have found that automating my votes to my favorite authors helpful. I have been supporting them for quite some time (with my teeny-weeny upvotes), and at the same time getting the most (I hope) from curation rewards too.

Curation

Explaining curation involves lots of techinical aspects, and seriously it is still very vague for me up to now.

We all know that our posts' earnings are split between the author (75%) and its curators (25%). We also have to learn to time our votes in order to maximize curation rewards:

  • If a post is upvoted the moment of posting, 100% of the curation reward goes to the author.
  • At 3 minutes, 90% goes to the author and 10% to the curator.
  • At 15 minutes it's a 50/50 split.
  • At 27 minutes, 10% goes to the author and 90% to the curator.
  • If a post is upvoted 30 min after posting, 100% of the curation reward goes to the curator.

Still, it is dependent on how many users have upvoted a certain post. Or something to that effect!

Anyhow, for us who own a small amount of SP, this may not matter a lot. However, knowledge is power. We do not know when we can be delegated a huge amount of SP (Urhhm! Hello, Whales!) so learning the tricks of curation would help us maximize it. Haha!

Auto Upvotes through Steem Voter

Personally, I use steemvoter. Through this, I can manage my upvotes to my authors of choice by setting up "rules". The rules include the time when to vote, and the upvote percentage.

Depending on your steem power, you can set up a number of rules on your account.

I originally wanted to share steps on how to create and set up your steemvoter account. Thankfully, I found this very detailed article by @gingerninja. It is really comprehensive and I will not be able to come up with anything more that this. If you want to get steemvoter account too, check out her guide below:

A minnows guide to start using Steemvoter.com | And how to setup rules to automate some of your posts!

Check your logs and visit the posts you have automatically upvoted

When you get back to steemit and start visiting posts again, do not forget to check your steemvoter voting log and see who you have voted on while you were away. It would still be nice to read their posts and then comment on them. Besides, they are not your favorite authors for nothing right? They must be writing really interesting posts that's why they made it to your auto-list!

Thoughts?

There are various other ways of automating our steemit activities, like steemauto for example. Do you use these auto-features? What do you think about them? Do these help you maximize your curation rewards too? Let me know your thoughts and other tips in the comment section below.

This post has received a 0.08 % upvote from @drotto thanks to: @banjo.

I learned so much by reading this. I didn't know if I wanted 30 minutes to curate, I get 100% of the upvote. Also I didn't know about the # of active rules for the different SP. I'll be sure to pay much attention to that from now on.

Not really 100% of the upvote, if you'll really see it coz it is also dependent on how many people voted and when you actually voted. Like you have to be the first to see the post before it gets discovered. Then when large upvotes come in our tiny vote somehow drowns.
Curation rewards matter more if you have big sp.

Yesss... and thanks to youuuu hehehehe.... kahit wala ako sa sirkulasyun ng 1week meron parin akong rewards na points...points...points... hahaha

Haha. Korek. That's what I've done with divinekids account since we do not open it all the time... at least kahit konti meron.
